Omaha's tap dancing wonderkids Tilly And The Wall are back for 2008 with a drastically different sound for one off single "Beat Control"
It's back to the 80's for the tap dancing five as they bust some moves giving Paula Abdul a run for her money...

They've been watching Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr.

For those of you with out toddlers that's a very strange show which is made by American indie music (and a few rappers) types and the songs sound like this.

I'm loving the single.
it's very late 80's early 90's.
I know Kianna is a big Dee Lite fan so it's got that sort of vibe too.
It's also the sort of thing Junior Senior would put out.
It has the potential to be "One hit wonder" massive, especially if there's a few remixes kicking about.

Don' forget the official version of "Too excited" (boo Hoo - **** You!) still has to see the light of day.
The new single isn't a huge departure from "Freest man" and "Perfect fit" anyway.

They were asked so I'm sure they couldn't turn it down!!

There are promo's of the album kicking about the world but no one has been cheeky / kind enough to upload it to any dodgy sites yet.
As a friend of the band I wouldn't leak it if I had one but as a fan I'm counting the hours /days!
It's not out till June though...

The new album has finally leaked the week pre orders ship.
They've done well to keep it under wraps as there were promos kicking about months ago.
It's sounding as good as expected so it's painful having to wait till Winter to see them!
If I had the cash I'd head over to New York.

Hope the album is a grower. As it stands after a couple of listens I'm not really enthralled at all and it's a bit of a disappointment.

Will give it a few more before deciding. Mind you, it wouldn't stop me from catching them live.

I'd say that is probably is best track off the album, yes. A shame as it came early on (and track 1 was decent too) so it gave me high hopes for the rest!

I watched them at their Pure Groove instore on Friday and their Matter gig on Saturday and they were brilliant on both occasions.
I always forget how good they are!
Both sets were "O" heavy, with no old songs played at the instore and only "Nights" and Bad Education" played at Matter.
Both sets were short though so I imagine there will be a few oldies unleashed alongside their killer cover of Erasure's "A little respect".
I'm trying to get to a show outside London but all the curfews are just a little bit too late as there's no guarantee I'd get my train.
