does anyone have this yet that could tell me if it's DTS? Can't really find any decent specs about it other than it's remastered with bonus tracks

Cheers

hmmm ... I don't have it, but was intrigued enough to have a scout around.

and I see what you mean ! little mention of detailed specs.

but after looking on the user reviews at amazon/play, no one mentions dts, and what there is of the spec just says "digitally enhanced" or some such. And of course, there are only a couple of vids on the dvd anyway.

I think it's very unlikely to have been given the full Depeche Mode treatment, with 5.1 audio on the dvd.

as someone said, maybe on the 30th anniversary edition ... ?

Think it's just standard CD. The remixes are horrifyingly bad!

Heard some of the new versions on 5 Live last week and the DJs were remarking on how good they were. I found myself agreeing with Craig David (eek!) in finding them awful. I suppose The Beatles and Elvis had the CD to re-sell all their back catalogue years down the line so poor old Mike has to resort to this nonesense.

I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan so I had to pick this up as soon as it was released. I'm really not a fan of will.i.am at all, so not too keen on "The Girl Is Mine" or "P.Y.T.". Akon's "Wanna Be..." Remix is pure brilliance though, stunning piano work (btw, Michael resung that second verse). Beat It 2008 is really interesting, if rather pointless. Having Fergie and Jacko go back and forth as a duet sounds kinda cool, but I really like the way that will.i.am separated all the parts from the original and layered them differently. You can hear Van Halen's guitar solo much more clearly. Kanye's "Billie Jean" is awful. How can you do a Remix of that choon without the bassline???

Also, for any collectors there are special editions in Best Buy, Target and Circuit. The Best Buy edition has the David Morales/Frankie Knuckles Mix of "Thriller", that was locked in the vaults since 1992 and is a definite collector's item. The Target edition has a 1992 club mix of Billie Jean that no-one knows who created yet. Target's edition has a 1982 Dance Mix of Wanna Be.

Listened to the new songs. What's the point of remixing the songs with flavour of the month artists? The songs were fine the way they were that's why it's the biggest selling album of all time. Michael should have just released the dvd and kept the songs untouched.
