The surplus stock market is traditionally slow at this time of year but we have just completed a deal for a large quantity of brand new ECM Celeron M-350 notebooks which are due in next week (13th / 14th Feb).
These units are supplied with XP Home (yes, that’s right...XP... a rarity nowadays!!!) a one year warranty and have a racy red finish to the lid!
We are retailing these at £199.99ex / £234.99inc click here for details (http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=4535&CategoryID=11&SubCategoryID=)
Or for more details from the ECS website click here (http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=540&CategoryID=3&DetailName=Specification&MenuID=59&LanID=0)

# Intel Celeron M 350 (1.3GHz) processor, 256MB DDR RAM
# 40GB hard disk and combo CD-RW/DVD ROM
# 14.1" TFT colour display (1024 x 768 resolution)
hmmn, so "sub £200" is in fact £246.74 inc VAT & Shipping which for something with those specs doesn't seem that great at all

The Sub Total is £199.99ex. VAT is £35.00 so the Total is £234.99inc which makes this a 'sub £200.00 notebook'.
If you are looking to have the item delivered the shipping charge is £10.00ex / £11.75inc.

BUT, Sub is meaning under £200 not before vat. vat being unavoidable for most of us.

Shipping is fair game but you are not going to sell this to us for sub £200 you are going to put VAT on therefore the title of this thread is misleading !
Sub £200 in terms of sales to morgancomputers but over £200 to most customers.
I have to agree with the previous comments
Getting a bit heavy for a forum sponsor :(
I'd recommend changing the thread title to £240. People enter the thread hoping for £200 including vat and end up disappointed. Probably sell more of them by stating the price including vat.

Thanks for the continued interest!! We now have a NEW snappy title......!
We always try to bring the best deals to Morgan customers whether it be on-line or via the flyer. There have been plenty of other threads which we have started over the past year using the word 'sub' which has never caused as much interest.
We always show the Inc an Ex VAT price + links to the product and we are certainly not trying to pull the wool over anybody’s eyes.
I always try to go the extra mile for forum users and where possible we have offered free shipping, free notebook cases & free RAM upgrades which are only offered to forum members but hey.....you can't win em all!!
Cheers

removed - comments like that in a sponsor's thread will not be tolerated.

you can get twice the RAM and twice the HDD size with a faster processor and a dvd RW seems like a no brainer to me - sponsor or no sponsor where is the bargain

I was about to post the same thing.
For the spec the ECM isn't even a "get what you pay for" laptop.

Now that's a bargain!
Slap on the wrist taken - if this had been the sponsor thread I would not have posted - but this is a bargain forum - and this laptop does not fit that description IMO

Where did you buy it from? from the back of the lorry? did you put a thread in the bargain forum? Celeron is crap, would not touch it despite the price.
