Spot on mate,

£10 quid surcharge for a Saturday departure, but £30 quid, 6 bottles of wine and a day out is an absolute bargain.

Nice one

D'ya think you get your 6 bottles of wine on the ferry? Or a voucher of some kind...?

From the site: Onboard, you’ll be able to collect your six free bottles of wine from our onboard shop, with the voucher that will be given to you upon check in. You’ll have a choice of red or white Californian from Winemaker’s Seal by Gallo.

And after that, head off to the International Food Court to claim your Buy One get One Free meal. In the morning you’ll be able to enjoy a full English breakfast, whilst on later sailings, freshly prepared British fish and chips.

Excellent spot OP! I can feel a bowl of moule mariniere coming on......

Haha I like P&O's style, giving away Californian wine on a trip to france

Good work OP, might just get away for the weekend

The missus spotted this yesterday and suggested it to me - it does seem like a great deal! We're planning on going in March!

Can you go without a vehicle? I don't see "none" on the drop box.

Probably worth going just to get cheaper diesel! Free ferry trip and wine thrown in with the price difference!

Exactly! there's still a saving to be made on Diesel (unlike petrol which can be even more expensive than the uk when you factor in exchange rates!)

What I normally do when i'm not going on a business trip is just do my grocery shopping in calais and fill up with diesel + have a look around..

Makes for a change!

That's probably just the one way price... if you proceed you should get a total of £20?

I take it if I book two day returns and only intend to travel "back" on the second they will not let me?

Anyone ? I mean do you need the triangle, headlights altered with the stick ons etc for one day out ?

We've been to france several times on booze cruise day trips and have never bothered sorting the headlights out, carry warning triangle etc. Probably against the law but then the French authorities probably have better things to do than nick a few brits for not having a warning triangle!

Got all the emergency and mandatory bits, but never do the headlamps on my car. The kit should always be in your car regardless of country to my mind.

I would recommend it as your insurance may not pay out if your headlights are not masked. Black insulation tape does the job for this. Bulbs, triangles etc are normal stuff in a car anyways. I beleive you don't need a first aid kit if you're a first aider either.

I take it if I book two day returns and only intend to travel "back" on the second they will not let me?

They'll let you, but charge you for it. Their used to be a trick of booking outward with one company, and sailing back with another on cheap day returns. They didn't like this either.

Just booked it for £30 on a saturday. I did have a few problems with the website though. Hope they come through with the wine and other freebies now.

We went yesterday and got a voucher for the bottles of wine and the free meal. The wine was only worth £2.99 each but hey it was free. A friend of mine however didn't get the voucher and so is was well p!ssed off! Apparently his girlfriend found out that someone else on board also didn't get them. Did this happen to anyone on the forums? They are going to complain to P&O as a result.

I just got all excited when I saw this pop up as I was intending on popping over, then noticed the last day of travel is tomorrow! Doh!

i did 2 trips, mega delays on the ferries for various reasons made the trip a bit of a fast, but i did quite enjoy driving down a one way road the wrong way and causing a hugh traffic ram while i tried a 30 point turn!
