Never actually seen the film - but having read the book at school it's a film I've always wanted to watch.

Reading the review reminded me of many of the characters and key scenes in the book.

Cheapest I've found this DVD is around £23 - anyone seen it cheaper?

I've neither read the book nor seen the film (shame shame shame) and each month this Criterion edition get's knocked of the purchase list. Perhaps next payday I should make the exception as I am certain I will love it. Thanks for the great review.

Keep on meaning to check this out, but it's a tad too pricey for me atm :( Loved the book, and loathed the 1990 remake. What were they thinking?!?!
