you could be out of luck from RS then - don`t see any bi-pin 1000w lamps on their site :(

Are you positive thats right? A 1000W halogen bulb is the equivalent of 17 100W light bulbs and is generally used to light football pitches :D
methinks your after a 100W which could be either mains or low voltage from your description as a 1kW lamp is double ended anyway. Take it to your local electrical wholesalers and they should be able to tell you what it is.
Do a search on RS and go to the tungsten halogen projector lamps page....is the second one on the left what you are after?

unless there was a major error or the germans work out watts differently.. ..it says 1000W on the lamp twice, on the box and the Achtung! piece of paper
look like the one to the left of the 'this side up' bulb in this photo

mine has a coiled spring thing going from top to bottom, but I guess that may not matter ?.
its bright, but football pitches

Yep thats definatly a 100W QT halogen bulb.....the only thing to work out is the voltage as which will probably be mains voltage (low voltage and mains ones look the same) unless you can see a transformer anywhere.....

225V/235V/240V/250V :p
on the light itself it says <strike>225</strike>220V~50Hz
