Im off to see these guys tonight at Liverpool Uni? Anyone else seen them? are they any good live?

To save on duplicate threads ( which normaly get locked ) I did use the thread that already existed but it got locked because it was too old!!!. Talk about inconsistancy in the rules, Oh well. Go figure!.

The thread you posted in was from 2003!!! and the discussion was about their first album. I'm not sure what you mean by inconsistency, how can discussion of a 2008 tour by a band be a duplicate of a an old thread discussing their 2002 debut?

The music forum doesn't have to have a one band, one thread policy.

Yet the films, TV, bargin parts of the forum do have a one film/show/bargin thread policy, hence the inconsistancy comment.

No they don't. You get a thread for each episode of a current TV show. There's no inconsistency. The point is not to have five threads on Oasis or whoever running at once.

Just search to make sure someone's not already started a thread on your topic. Clearly a band's current tour is different to their other tours and to each of their albums. Unless they release five albums in a few months those threads aren't going to step on top of each other.

In the TV forum you get a thread on the current episode of a show and then often a thread for that show in general or the current season of that show, since they cover different things.

And just to argue the point, I posted in a thread under the name of the band, not an album ( ok the 1st album was a band named album) or a tour,

It was a general question about the band, so now we just have 2 threads named the same!. So i've changed it for clarity's sake.

Well to get back on track yes i've seen them live. I saw them in Chicago in 2006 at Lollapalooza. They were dreadful and I think they are considered a bit of a joke in the US, amongst people I know anyway.

I'd expect a large amount of 15 year old kids with too much eye makeup on to be having a great time at their shows though.

Ah, a bit of a "My Chemical Romance" then :(

They were pretty good live, The band can play and Jarad Leto can sing but does have a tendancy to run around the stange a bit too much so words get cut off half way through and the like. and some of the songs were a bit of a mess because of it.

They really do appreciate fans Too, they stuck around after in the bar to sign autographs and chat to the fans, which i've never seen from a band of this size before.

My expereince was let down big style by the venue though. Liverpool Uni, must have been about 2000 people, every single one searched, and only 2 people doing it ( one for the blokes and one for the women ) so I was waiting in the cold for about an hour and a half after the doors opened, only saw 5 mins of the support band before the 45 min wait for 30 seconds to mars to arrive on stage.

My over all experience is a 4/10. 30 seconds to mars themselves were maybe a 7 or 8/10 and I can only see them improving over time.

Went to see them at Leeds Uni last night. I had never been to see them before, in fact the last concert I went to was All Saints 9-10 years ago.

It was a scary experience at first but hubby kept hold of me and I was fine. In the end instead of trying to stop the crowds from jostling me, I went with the flow and enjoyed myself.

The band were awsome, Jared sang really well and Shannon looked sexy, his drumming was superb.

Am a bit battered and bruised but looking forward to the next gig I go to.

I've just got into 30 Seconds and I'm going to see them at Give It A Name in May (my ex bought me a ticket out of guilt/my birthday :D). I'm really looking forward to it.
