Not putting much time or effort into this are they! :(
Deaks.
They know they don't have to. They probably figure if 0.1% of the Trekkers out there buy it, they will be well in profit.
It is a bit pathetic though. The amount of bloopers etc they must have from the TNG run...

True, I've got the first season bloopers/skits and they run for about 15mins!

:( Knew I shouldn't have said anything! :D
They're vhs I'm afraid, but if I get a chance this evening I'll have a go at ripping them to PC and then see if I can host them somewhere.
Deaks.
Is the reason for this because they've got to spread all the featurettes etc over the seven sets, so the bloopers could be in the Season 2 set for example?

Edge has pretty much nailed it. Mutiply that 50 mins by 7 to get the approx running time of additional material once the entire run is available.

Still pathetic. I used to watch Entertainment Tonight and their vault must contain hours of interviews and features on each season. 50mins of new material is all well and good but there's no excuse for leaving off the sometimes more interesting stuff produced at the time. There are also various documentaries produced by Paramount throughout TNG's run that could be included.

Deaks, I’d say a potential six hours of extra video isn’t too bad. Remember these are "extras" - what you’re really paying for is the show itself. If the additional features start to outweigh the content then the price will begin to slide up and up. Something which Paramount and all of us don’t want to happen.
Just for comparisons sake take the US set where cutbacks to achieve a lower price have seen the less attractive packaging being used. It’s a balancing act and although they could’ve pushed the boat out a little further on this inaugural first season, I’m sure that overall it will be a comprehensive package.

It's not actually too bad when you consider you're getting nineteen hours of episodes for seventy quid. That's the price of five films at fifteen quid a piece, and five films won't run to nineteen hours (unless it's five copies of Ben Hur or something!)
So it's not too bad a deal - and there's the spiffy boxes too.

Anybody know whether STNG was made on video or film?
If it's video then R1's a certainty.
To be honest, I am surprised mighty Paramount are even giving us 50 mins of extras knowing their past record!
