Saw this in the paper and on tv. I've never seen these this cheap even with all these silly furniture companies contstantly having 'sales'. I've been looking for one of these for a while now and thought it seemed a pretty good deal so i hope it helps someone else.

Been to see it and sit and still like it. However a search on Harveys customer service does not leave me with a warm glow.

i cant deny i would agree on the customer services front, however i feel this one may be worth a punt. i always think 14 weeks for delivery is a bit of a **** take!

Measured up my room, but we're destined to be a 2 x 2 small seater sofa house, unless we move, but may not be worth it for a forum bargain.

I think there is also an extra 10% off this price.

Instore or a discount voucher?

If I remember correctly it was a poster on their window saying an extra 10% off everything .This was in Farnborough (Hants).

Not being funny, but usually people only post problems, they don't come on line to praise good service half as readily as they do to bitch about even the smallest let down or day late on delivery.
Also you search for something like "Harveys Customer Service problems" in Google you get exactly what you asked for.

Looks OK - my only issue is that it is not all leather - the imitation stuff will be poor quality and not last long. Some of the all leather ones look good value as well.

There's no extra 10% off this I asked and was informed that more than 10% had been taken off the price already. Tad misleading poster outside

We had a look, they seem ok. We would've liked a 2 seater and a 3 seater. They're both the same price. However after measuring up we've realised we can only have a 3 seater and a 1 seater. The 1 seater was £279. Given we've just moved into a new home we've decided to leave it a while as we may get a freebie from my sister :)

Maybe just me, but I went to see it and that sofa is hideous and just looks like a giant black over inflated meringue! Surely this is just buying for the sake of a bargain rather than because you want it? Have you guys actually gone down and had a look at this monstrosity?

Well we went to see it and decided it would ideal for us. Ordered a chocolate 3 and 2 seater, delivery up to 5 weeks, apparantly only 5 weeks if you have this combination, other combinations 15 weeks. They also did the 5 years protection with £40 leater kit thrown in for £150. They will try to sell you the 3 year deal for £150 but the 5 year deal is the same price if you ask for it.

£50 delivery charge but they deliver it, unpackage it, build it (it comes in parts) and take away the packaging.

So, basically that £299 sofa has ended up costing £500? Still cheapish, but that's a hell of a mark-up for "extras"!

By the way you can haggle on the delivery charge - we got it down to £30 on a £300 table/chair set. I`m sure he could have gone further but that was just with asking quickly.

I have a back problem that prevents me from lifting moving heavy things and was wondering if they will also take away the old sofa(may be charge a bit more) ?
Thanks to the original OP and ShaneC.
Thanks and Regards,

We paid £300 for a 3 seater double recliner a year ago, its about the right price. If they do a two seater double recliner version I would bet that they are modular. ie the whole frame unbolts so a middle section can be inserted.

This also means that it can be dismantled for easi(er) lugging around.

Not sure but it won't hurt to ask, I didn't see it on their blurb but I was trying to keep an eye on 3 kids at the same time

If you want to shift your old one, put it on freecycle with the stipulation they take it away, theres always someone who has a van and can shift it.

The protection is £30 per seat for 5 years, 5 seats (2+3) = £150. £6 per year per seat seemed ok to us as our kids may well damage it :D

Should have haggled on the delivery but as it was £50 no matter how many items and they built we thought £50 was reasonable.

Thanks ShaneC. I will check with them, I may pop into a store this weekend.
