[PS3] Multiple saves Help

I wondered if someone could help me here ! I have noticed in some games you can only have one save i.e. Call Of Duty 3. Not much good if a friend pops round and wants to start his/her own game.

Is there a way around this ? if I was to give them a user name on the main PS3 screen (not on the game) and then log in as them and not me would the game recognise it as a new user ?

It's quite possible I don't have a clue at what I'm asking but I thought I'd try and ask !!! Not a seasoned gamer and still learning !

I was wondering this myself as I'm playing Assassins Creed and sometimes if a friend pops round they will want a shot. Not on my saved game.

I was thinking about creating a seperate account on the main PS3 menu.

Yep, creating a separate account should do it. Also some games have a Chapter Select system (Uncharted), where I don't think it overwrites your main save game.
