Hello, first post :D
Joined here because I saw people have mentioned the Ashdown amp before. I cannot find any reviews but its only £100 here: http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~Ashdown---All-Access---G60-R~ID~4098.asp
I have a Behringer Vamp2 so would play that through the effects loop.
Which would you get out of the above in the title? I play loads of things, from jazz to rock to indie to metal :D Looking for an amp thats powerful enough for a band practice/small gig!
Budget is around £120
Thanks in advance!
I have an old original Roland Cube 60, a transistor amp from (I guess) the late 70s early 80s. This is great for gigging around but I wouldn't want anything less powerful than 60 (which is what I assume the Cube 60 is).
I used to have a Marshall 2x12 100W Valvestate, that was still punishingly loud.
I would say 50W is the minimum for an amp you'll be able to use at small gigs, unless you're talking proper acoustic ones, in which case I've seen an original Cube 40 handle such a show at the Hope & Anchor fine...but you mentioned 'metal'.
You should definitely be looking at a range between 50 and 100W in my experience but see what the others on here say.
As to amp makes: I find Line 6 amps to be very irritating to use. They have too many settings, none of which seem to cover a 'straight' sound and it's far too easy to flick a knob one step and suddenly what was a nice sound is a wall of screaming feedback that can damage your hearing. Pretty much the worst amps I've ever tried, but these were the bigger babies.
My Roland Cube 60 is a great amp but I don't really know if the new ones are very similar.
yeh 50w for transistor for all round gigs. You could probably get away with a 30w in smaller places but you'd be fighting to be heard.
Some alternatives:-
epiphone valve special

Laney LC15

both of these are valve amps so don't be worried about the output and both should work nicely with your vamp.
