Great news, although I am not a big fan of the woman returing! Cheers for the update.:D
So does this mean we have to wait until 2004 or 2005 for the Indy Jones tri... well, whatever you call 4 films in a row, on DVD?
Not that I'm too bothered, as I have the laserdiscs...
Good news though.
Will believe it when I actually see some footage of it!

Ahhh, Mr Spielberg falling into the David Mamet school of "Cast the wife since no-one else will cast her"...
Watching Temple Of Doom the other night made me see where Lucas got the inspiration for Jar-Jar ;)
Oh great here comes a massive uproar and slagging of match about how old Harrison is and how pants this is going to be.
I got a feelin that he might be a good time for Harrison to do it he has just finished what will most likely be a good film, workin with a good director Ms Bigalow.
So moving on from that to do this might be his best time to do it.
Oh and the age thing, Spielberg has spoken about this, basicly saying that Harrison's age will be Indys age and part of the story, interesting.
Here's waiting for the script details and the all important name:clap:
Cheers:)

Hmmm...
'Indiana Jones Junior - Son of Indi'
plot: Indiana Jones has to save the son he didn't know he had with the woman from the second film?
I hope it isn't

Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw and Harrison Ford.......This threesome is pretty much it in Hollywood.
Of course they are - Why I’ve lost count of the number of Kate Capshaw movies in my DVD collection. I think I can safely say that Spielberg is not bowing to fan pressure by bringing back Kate’s character.
Is anyone as worried as I am that this means it’ll now be at least 2004 or 2005 before the trilogy hits DVD, holographic crystals or whatever the hell we’ll be viewing movies on by then?
How I wish I hadn’t rushed to sell my laserdiscs.
Edit - Just realised that Andy C is as worried as I am :)

Balls to Kate Capshaw! Bring back Karen Allen!
Whatever happened to her anyway?

Quadrology???
Have faith. I'm sure if anyone is going to pull it off it's going to be Spielberg and Lucas.

I find your sightless faith disturbing. Surely you mean,
'I'm sure if anyone is going to pull it it's going to be Spielberg and Lucas'
or
'I'm sure if anyone is going to call it off it's going to be Spielberg and Lucas.
Right?

C'mon, I've seen one decent Capshaw film. 'Next Door', with James Woods and Randy Quaid, and she wasn't that bad in it. ;) It was a made for TV movie though...

I haven't got faith in either Lucas or Spielberg considering their last films were both utter tripe.
And Kate Capshaw is in it. This isn't good news at all.

According to Karen Allen's listing on imdb.com, she seems to star in a fair few low key/budget movies, with the last big movie being Perfect Storm in 2000. Would be nice to see her in what will no doubt be the last Indy movie. Kind of going full circle with both Karen Allen and Kate Capshaw starring.

I thought anything over 3 films is considered a 'saga'
Like the Aliens boxset and the Star wars films.

I know what the storyline is going to be, I have heard it from a very reliable source in Hollywood:
Indy has to save an ancient zimmer frame thought to have mystical powers which prevents the universe from imploding. The 'Frame of the Old' as it will be called, is a highly prized local village treasure in a mythical town called Royston Vasey. Here a local villager turns out to have supernatural powers and wants to destroy The Frame of the Old so he can rule the universe, so he gets a thousand young Indian children to dig a very large hole and bury it. It is Indys job to save The Frame of the Old, as his zimmer frame broke some time ago and is held together with selloptape ala Jack Duckworth. If he finds The Frame the local villagers have promised he can keep it, Indy believes this will lead him to eternal life and solve his bad eye sight and hearing. His adventure leads him very slowly through Nazi Germany, India, China and a lot of Cornish cream tea cafe's. He is joined on his quest by his father who is sadly now but a rotting corpse. Indy has premonitions of his Dad on his journey in the form of a holy ghost with a dodgy Scottish or is it English or is it American accent .
My mate has also told me the ending, but I wouldn't want to give it away to everyone. Hope this helps.

Wouldn't bringing her character back be a little difficult? Unless she has an identical twin, that isn't going to happen.

having read the foxnews.com story this project still looks pretty tenuous. after all, the "trio" didn't really tell the reporter anything we don't already know, i.e. they (including lucas) all "want" to do the movie. but wanting to do it has never been the problem, it's simply a matter of co-ordinating incredibly busy schedules - especially george lucas'.
forget capshaw (let's hope that was the booze talking) indy IV is not going to happen without ford, spielberg and lucas all being available at the same time. and how is that going to happen before lucas has finished work on episode III? i imagine there'll be some "ditch lucas" sentiment, but it has to be remembered that he wrote the stories for all three of the existing movies and had a big influence as executive producer.
i think this is unfortunately just more wishful thinking (i'd love to be wrong though!) and a retread of 'old news' that this reporter hasn't come across before and is presenting it as "news". i know ford did re-state his desire to do the film, but that's never been the problem.

The only film where I enjoyed Kate Capshaw was the awesome Sci-Fi epic that was Dreamscape, starring Dennis Quaid.
Her getting naked in a train carriage was the highlight of the film for me

But they filmed Raiders during the original SW trilogy so why not again?

that's true, and was pointed out to me by a mate who read my post above. however, the difference this time is that lucas is even more involved with his last two movies of the trilogy than he was last time out. not only is he actually directing them himself, but he is writing them himself and then (in the case of episode II at least) co-writing the final draft.
does he have the time to spare? i guess only he knows. that said, if the reports are true that they have the story but not the script then, assuming they stuck with tradition and lucas wrote /came up with the story, he won't really be needed for the pre-production phase. he might even play less of a role in produciton too, who knows? so i guess it is possible!

This is the script I got hold of
Indiana Jones: I’m in the deep jungle
Girl: Oh, Indy
Indiana Jones: (uses whip) I don’t use guns
Girl: Oh, Indy
Indiana Jones: Mind that cliff
Girl: Oh fu..
THE END
I just thought I'd bounce this back up as I noticed that M. Night Shyamalan is credited in writing it so maybe Indy will find out he's actually dead at the end of the film :type: Also the guy who wrote the screenplay for traffic is on board as well. Don't know if this info was on imdb before but interesting none the less.

Just to be pedantic and put my librarians hat on for a moment. A series consisting of four films would be called a quartet. I'll get me coat......

Yeah, me too. Pity she obviously is embarassed (or is it her husband)
about this because the region 1 DVD of this has that scene heavily
edited. :(
Anyone here know the true story of why this was edited?

i'm probably the only one who doesn't hate Capshaw in the 2nd film... although i can see the fuss.. but Doom was the Indy film i grew up with, so i knew no different!!
If Lucas writes the story i bet he introduces some council/political sequences, or introduce some tax route between Germany and Poland, and Indy is constantly in court, old lawyer man type style, quaralling with Hitler or something 'intriguing' like that! ?? :p
nah, i honestly think it could work out, it seems there's some talent in the writing dept. and i'm sure they can work around Ford's age in a good way. And Spielberg seems to be a director who has still maintained his talent through the years, so i have faith in him turning out a good product... but where does he get the energy!!! AI last year, Minority Report this year, already on another one.. as well as managing Dreamworks!!
oh and Capshaw locks lips with Elle Mcpherson in a program called 'Girl Thing'(??), so lucky Spielberg has a good home video available when bored!!
