It simply can't be grainy - simple as that! Are you sure you ain't seeing simple pixellation in the picture as a result of your DVD player?

R2 Project (http://www.r2-dvd.org/article.jsp?sectionId=4&articleId=3204) don't seem to think it's grainy.

Is it constant grain or some specific shots? Also, what size screen are you viewing it on?

What sort of set up do you have??. Don't get rid of it that hastely. I have a crappy 21" 4:3 tv and reviews that state pictures as being flawless or pretty outstanding (FF being one of them) i still find errors and grainy patches. So it could just be the limits of your system rather than the DVD itself.

My Region 1 copy is also extremely grainy, especially for an all-digital transfer.

See:

A definite "grain" pattern all over it. I'm not sure if this shot shows it off as well as possible, but it's there throughout the movie.

This is an ATI Radeon 8500 video card, PowerDVD 3.0, set to Weave. This also appears on my 58" Widescreen TV with a Pioneer DV-626D player.

Didnt they add a slightly grainy effect to the transfer to make it look more like a 'real' film? Sure I read something like that in a review somewhere:confused:

That's right, the grain is meant to be there and is present on all versions.

The film makers wanted to give the film a grittier, more natural look.

I know, what was the guy expecting a feature length version of ReBoot?
