Just taken this from Dark Horizons.com
Back to the Future (DVD): Lots of details about the disc set are up at BTTF.Com after they interviewed writer/producer Bob Gale: "We are doing all new transfers from newly struck elements made from the original negative. And when I say newly struck, I mean brand newly struck. These are being mastered (as most movies are these days) in high definition, and the NTSC versions will be down-converted from these new high def masters. There will be separate versions for letterbox (1.85) and standard (1.33) versions". At the moment the work on the first film's remastering is complete with the two sequels scheduled to go their sexy new rejuvenation starting next week. A release date has yet to be set, but the last half of 2002 in the US seems to be the target. Thanks to 'The Erndog' & 'Stephen'
