I saw a post in the DVD and Home Cinema Forum a few weeks ago concerning someone who bought some DVD shelves from Ikea. What are they called?

Also, can anyone recommend some nice DVD storage cabinets? SoundStyle do one and I have one of their AV racks but it is over £150!

I'd second the Billy bookcases as you can buy extra shelves that mean that you can set them to the ideal height !
Pretty cheap aswell ! :D

And obviously you guys find them fine? Well, you wouldn't buy them I suppose.

I am quite taken by that £80 cabinet too (first link).

Got two of these (http://www.ikea.co.uk/product_presentation/show.asp?productnumber=93690608&type=ART&id=3038,3039,3078) along with one of these (http://www.ikea.co.uk/product_presentation/show.asp?productnumber=67305208&type=ART&id=3043,3069) and three cd inserts.

Well worth the money.

I bought a Billy bookcase yesterday, you can get them in various widths, heights and colours and you can buy extra shelves which can be fitted at exacly the right width for DVDs. They are pretty sturdy as well, mine has 3 inch long bolts on each corner.

Arkham,

Have you seen the bookshelf type that sells normally for£14.99 in What Everyone Wants, its a flatpack pine effect stand at about 36" high by 27" wide and has four rows each holding 30 single disks (120 in total).

Have seen them reduced to 12.50 the past few days but even at £15 they do the job and look decent, especially when full.

What about this for cheapskates like me:

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/commerce/command/ExecMacro/ols_prod_detl.d2w/report?prrfnbr=6111687&prmenbr=6970&type=big&thisMode=ols&cgrfnbr=69379

Anyone got one or the larger one for £14.99? If so, how many DVDs can you fit in either one?

the backing on those is super-flimsy - like thin cardboard - i use 2 of them to hold my videos. probably fget ober 100 DVD's in there.

I have a cool(ish) rack from Index  which is black shelves and wooden uprights which just slot together - a single one holds about 80 DVD's - and a double one is now about £25 i think :D

I think it's listed as £0 because you have to build it up from scratch by selecting different sections, which cost at least £29 each.

Littlewoods (http://www.littlewoods-index.com/index/rf.inf.RFServlet?pathinfo=index/IndexShopHome.html) have a decent selection, the ADDSPACE NARROW/HIGH BOOKCASE looks pretty good if you need something narrowish

Can anybody help me ?

Im after storage units which maybe hold 20 or so DVDs but which run Horizontal and can be wall mounted - preferable with a kinda future type look or at least stylish

Anybody know any place ?

You bunch of wimps! What's wrong with a bit of good old fashioned DIY? I spent a most enjoyable afternoon last week constructing a set of 6ft wide x 10ft high shelves to store my DVDs. The finished unit stores up to 450 discs. It's only slightly crooked and hasn't fallen over once (yet).

I have a large self built unit for all the movies - but kinda wanted something different to hang on the wall for the TV series and stuff

Kind like those vertical stacking units but more stylish and that are horizontal and can be fitted to wall

Maybe in a stainless steel type finish and perhaps with glass doors or something

Any ideas ?

Try turning your sig off when you post again in a thread - it gets a little annoying! :p
