Acoustic guitar - Yamaha vs Fender

I'm looking for a guitar for an absolute beginner. The Yamaha f310 gets lots of praise. I took a look last week and it sounded pretty good, I thought. The Fender CD60 is about the same price but I haven't heard any opinions. Anyone here tried both?

I havent tried that Fender model. But someone gave me a Fender which I assume is a beginner one and its crud. Id say go for Yamaha as it does get a lot of praise.
