View Full Version : Region Moulin Rouge Faulty Disc Mystery

I posted a thread earlier concerning this -

At the curtain raise at the start of this disc, the screen pixelates, and sound goes... same point every time?!

I've got a Mitsubishi Black Diamond Region free player, and I have ordered and played every region on this machine...

I tried a 2nd copy of this disc (Horsefleash ordered it at the same time) and my 'faulty disc' works on his chipped Sony, and his own copy does EXACTLY the same on mine - probems again - at EXACTLY the same point in the film -

The thing is the 2nd disc of the boxset works fine on my player !??!?!!!

I can play RCE Discs (Blackadder Region1) -
Anyone know whats up with this disc -
NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH PLAYBACK ON MY PLAYER...

HELP!

I also had problems at the same place with my copy from dvdimport.com played on a
Samsung 611. I had the subtitles switched on and they disapperaed for 2 seconds while the picture became narrower than it should have been and then evreything became fine again. Also, around the layer switch the disc had problems with the sound, the DD5.1 changed to DS and back again. I changed the disc and still I have the problem at the beginning of the film. If I have subtitles on and skip to chapter 19 (the one where they sing Madonna's Like A Virgin) I still lose the subtitles for a couple of seconds.

I have just got Moulin Rouge today and have skipped through to some of the good song bits, so I can't say if mine messes up at the beginning yet....BUT i get the screen dramatically narrowing at the beginning of chapter 14...Elephant Love Medley - no subtitles on.


And if you want to call my DVD player...go right ahead, I know it's pants, but it works :) it's a Cyberhome ADN212

Check after chapter 19 or just before Like A Virgin for narrowing.

yep, get narrowing at the beginning of chapter 19 and the beginning of chapter 3 too...

Like I said above, mines unwatchable - but I think amazon won't take it back... possibly a region problem - even though my player plays all - ?!?!
