How do!

My Sherwood RD-6106R has started blowing fuses every 30mins or so, so it looks like its fubar. Shame really its served me well for at least 5 years now but I am still gutted.

Anyway, looks like I am gonna have to go out and buy a newen cause the sound emitted by the LCD is truly **** and I need my surround sound back!

So recommendations please. I only have speakers for 5.1 (2 fronts, 2 rears a centre and a sub) so I dont need owt that fancy, I need optical inputs (the more the merrier) as I have a telewest (virgin media) tv drive, 360 and normal xbox which are currently connected via a 3 way switcher.

Dont wanna spend that much either, £200 max really although if there is a massively better one just over I should be able to push to it.

RIP the Sherwood.

If you liked the way your amplifier presented music and soundtracks, and if you have a budget of £200.00, why don't you take your amplifier to a really good electronics specialist and have him repair and upgrade your existing amp?

Boink!

Is there a newer Sherwood model you could buy? It's a Richer Sounds item isn't it?

Yeah, I bought it ages ago, was just talking to my gf who reckons its 6 years old , in a Richer Sounds sale for about £120! Best money I have ever spent.

Cant believe its lasted this long, its moved house all the way through uni, been dropped a few times, spent a year in a cupboard and never let me down. Untill now.

Strange how you get attached to inanimate objects, but its brought me so much joy!

Dunno about the repair thing, maybe its time to upgrade, its a Dolby Pro Logic I amp and you can get Pro Logic II now which on my mates amp sounds better than mine for bog standard sound.
