View Full Version : Journeyman 1- 4 (Spoilers)
Good episode with the big twist being the fact that the professor could contact him via phone in the past.
Was his father also able to time hop?
Let's hope we find out before it vanishes from our screens!

Vanishes? Just a it's-too-good-not-to-be-cancelled joke, or is there something in that comment?
Yeah another good episode. You just knew something interesting would happen when you introduce an ex-NASA boffin who dabbles with Tachyons .... but that sure was a cool way of doing it.
It's actually surprising how good the show is when the weakest element of it is the plot-of-the-week element regarding who he has to save. Normally it's the relationship stuff that is dull but it's surprisingly well handled so far.
Yep, enjoying this more and more. As mentioned by TonyG, the who he saves bit isn't really what is important, more how his wife copes with him vanishing like that.
He really did plump for 2nd best though didn't he after he thought his girlfriend was dead, she's a babe!!
Wonder if he'll ever go forward in time?
Still enjoying this but I actually thought that it was the weakest episode so far, storyline just didn't grab me this week.

Yup, the time travel storyline itself wasn't the best this week (who actually wanted to kill who and why again?) but the fact that he's allowed, even expected, to do "bad" things in the past is interesting - if necessary even kill people, according to Lyvia.
But yes, the relationship stuff is extremely well handled and very compelling - surprising in what appeared from the start to be a straightforward genre show.
So how did the professor even get Dan's number for his old mobile? Does he use his existing sim card in it or something? :)

That's the magic of time-travel at work. I'm sure in a future episode, Dan will jump back further, meet the professor & give him his number. :D

That would work. I was watching "The Big Bang Theory" yesterday (not great but watchable) which had a great line basically saying that the best thing you could do if you invented a time machine would be to go back in time and tell yourself at an earlier age how to invent a time machine. Which would save you the work trying to figure it out in future.
Brilliantly flawed "Bill & Ted" style thinking - love it. Anyway, I digress...
I don't like the relationship stuff, the wife is always moaning. She knows he can't control it.
I feel as if they need to rejig it a bit, concentrate more on the time travel/saving people and less on his wife.

My sentiments exactly. Bin the wife angle, time travel is what we want :dork:

Well considering that the difficulties with the wife are one of the key plotlines I can't see them ditching her.
To be fair her character has grown on me. Are we really supposed to have her just be fine with her husband disappearing all the time? And until now he's been acting as if he's never in any real danger and is just sorting out a few things in the past - then he turns up carrying a gun. It would have been lazy writing to just have her being totally fine with him vanishing all the time.
In contrast his ex (while admittedly can be considered more attractive) has given him no helpful explanation as to why he keeps 'jumping' or what it's all about, or how she's keeping in step with him on his travelling. And at no point has he even bothered to question her about what the hell is happening.
The key difference between this and Quantum Leap is the fact that he returns to the present & his family. If the writers don't bother to address this obvious conflict between not only two women in his life but also 2 'time zones' then it would just be sloppy writing. And I'd rather not see this show go down the 'leap of the week' style series.

Absolutely. Couldn't have said it better myself. Have a smiliey
I've been catching up with this and am really enjoying it. I thought this weeks time travel story was the weakest so far, but the doctor calling him has certainly added more long term intrigue Best new show this year so far imo
