A classic in its day - I can remember meeting my mate for our daily walk to school on the Monday morning after it first aired on SKY the night before and talking about it all the way.
One of my fave episodes ever. A true classic.
"Mmmmm!! Unprocessed fish sticks."

It worked simply as they didnt hype it. And at the time, it was just gobsmacking stuff.
Plus, you know. The superior quality of the writing due to the prescence of Brad Bird. [such is my controversial reasoning for the decline in the show in recent years] ;)

Having suffered through some terrible seasons, I was pleasantly suprised by episode 1 of season 19.
I loved the way they re-jigged the opening titles to tie-in with the Simpsons movie and I thought it had some some decent laugh out loud moments.
I wanted it for a colleague - I actually have the box set it's on, so double plus :D He's going to use it to teach black hole and gravitational theory

Agreed with season 19. However, I've come across a small quandry. 2 Weeks ago Sky broadcast a new episode at 5.30 on sunday that doesnt seem to have been shown in the States. I can't find any mention of it online on episode guide sites and the like.
Plot was:
Grandpa falling for Selma!!!! And Bart and Lisa obtaining free packaging boxes from a UPS alike company, building a fort, and then having a recreation of the battle from Return of the King, complete with original film music and winged beastie.
Saw it with a group of mates and we all loved it. But I can't find out if it has actually been shown in the States yet!
EDIT:
Just found it, it was a season 18 episode. Yet it was billed as new!
That's a Season 18 episode.

Was that the one where Homer went in Mr Burns private jet?
I thought it was an awful episode for the most part :(
