View Full Version : ONE NIGHT AT McCOOLS DTS&DTS ES
i've just aquired a copy of one night at mccools with a dts & dts es soundtrack on it.It is a region1 with the blue cover but has DTS logos on it also dts&dts es stamped on the disc itself. The sound quality is far superior to my 5.1 copy, but i cant find anybody retailing this version. Can anybody shed any light on this please.
I may be wrong, but it sounds an awful lot like a dodgy bootleg to me! Many of these discs have DTS written all over them and I am not aware of any release of ONAMcC's that has DTS.
How much was it and where did you get it from?
it cost £9 from a market, and i agree with you that it must be a bootleg however there are dts options on the menu and the sound is definatly better than on my 5.1 copy, also if it wasn't true dts then i would have thought my amp wouldn't show dts whilst it's playing. The picture quality shows no difference,so if it is a bootleg then perhaps i would look at buying a couple more.

Region 3 maybe?
many bootlegs trick the amp into thinking the sound is 5.1 when it is actually 2 channel or even mono. I've seen 'cinema filmed' dvd bootlegs that are in dolby digital
probably a r0 bootleg from asia (as practically all are), are there any subititles?

It wouldn't be the R3 as I was going to get it if it had DTS. Its the full-screen version as well :(
I agree with everyone else though, it does seem to be a bootleg as no region has it in DTS (to my knowledge). Anyway, would the disc be able to fit two DTS tracks on it?

Extras are exactly the same as my region1 canadian release.

Subtitles are in Spanish French .

The packaging states that it is region1,it must be region1 or 0 because i didn''t change the region setting on my player.
