View Full Version : Bionic Woman 1-3 (Spoilers)
Far better episode seeing Jamie as a Bionic Babysitter.
I wonder if they changed Sarah's character and general plotline after the favourable reaction towards her after the pilot.
Jamie's bionics seem a bit rubbish when fighting as Sydney Bristow could get the same results without them. She should be punching holes in people!
Best line of the episode "Is she a lesbian?"!!
Noticed a few complaints online today regarding her strength (or lack of it).
If one of the highlights is showing she can stop a car window from rising then we're in trouble!
Ooooh yes! this was much better than the first two. The writing was improved, the music was very good, I love the old-school synth score, even a hint of the silly six-million dollar man sound-effects when she was using her ear implant. Some nice touches too regarding her & Sarah sharing the same programming as she analysed close-by objects to be used as weapons. Being able to "hack" her implants was a bit cheesy & as mentioned, her fighting skills are sub Sydney Bristow so far but overall this was very entertaining & hints at good things to come.
It has an overhall around about episode 5 as everyone that worked on it has left!
Enjoyed this a lot more than ep 2, especially the developing conflict/relationship between Sarah and Jamie. LOL at the lesbian line as well.

much better episode, when I was watching it I noticed that Jaime couldn't even beat up some brain dead thugs without help
Michelle ryan needs to fight in some low cut tops :luv:
I think that they do not want her to become too powerful too quickly so that is why she is shown to be struggling in the fights. If she can dismissively defeat anyone then the show really has no where to go. To be fair they do seem to be emphasising that she is physically able but she has to mentally overcome the basic programming of her bionics. By the end she was making progress in that she has learnt to turn her "tracking" on and off at will.
For me this episode was a big leap in quality. The writing was much improved and there were plenty of genuinely amusing one liners. Michelle Ryan has seemed to settle into role very well now as has most of the main cast. I like that Sarah isn't actually a particularly bad person and is actually being manipulated by Anthros. What with these developments of Sarah and Antonio seemingly wanting Jamie to become less human (like Sarah) some much needed intrigue has been added.
This episode was written by David Eick who is now the lead showrunner. So hopefully he can maintain this standard from now on.
Agree with the above, much better episode, all seems to be clicking into place. Like the idea of Jamie Sommers as conflicted and us seeing her come to terms with what is happening, and what she is learning. It works well.
Is Jamie's sister related to Denise Richards in real life as she looks just like a younger model of her?
Enjoying this tbh, didn't think I would. Presumed it would be Saturday afternoon fodder but it's better than that.

Think I'll drop this, I gave it a shot but it's not really working for me.
A couple of thoughts:
- Jamie's dead boyfriend's dad looks only a couple of years older than his son. Could they not afford aging make-up on this show?
- Sarah Corvis kept insinuating in this episode that the boyfriend had been studying Jamie as a potential bionic candidate for some time. Jamie looks shocked at this notion. Now maybe I imagined it, but didn't we (and Jamie) learn all this in episode 2 when she discovered the file under the floorboards? Or did I dream that?!

I didn't think jaime knew she was been studied as potential bionic candidate, all she knew the BF had a file on her

 You don't post on IMDB do you? What was the point of your post? We are talking about episode 3 which you haven't seen so what are you contributing? Also the ratings didn't really drop this week you'll be pleased to hear.

I really enjoy this, something different and it will be good to see where it goes. :)
Sarah knew Jaime had a camera eye thing, yet she still tells her to meet at that secret spot and is suprised when the team shows up.

It wasn't secret she just wanted to meet there because she couldn't be cornered. She was surprised when they turned up because Jamie promised she would go alone.

Yes but Jamie is not in control of the team, so it seems obvious they would show up, in fact tactically it makes no sense to tell them where they are meeting, if I was that bald dude I would have set up snipers to take her out the moment she got there.
While the writing is getting better, it is still pretty poor. The Sarah character is tedious, one moment she is trying to be a friend and then threatening to kill her sister. There are also supposed to be teams covering Jamie's building.

I'm liking this series a hell of a lot more than I thought I would so far, although it's clearly no modern classic! My only real gripe with it so far is that they don't apply any real logic to the whole bionic strength thingy. One minute we see Sarah & Jaime put holes in walls and seriously dent metal objects, the next minute we see Sarah punch Jaime full-on in the face causing her to fly about 8 ft back in the air, only to land gracefully like she's barely been hit!! Now I could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure they didn't fit Jaime with a bionic chin!
If they just hired someone to design the fights around Jaime's weaknesses (chin, only one bionic arm), then the fights with Sarah and generic thugs could be much more exciting. Instead they just go into alias mode and have the women perform a series of random punches and kicks to some generic rock or techno beat. Yawn!
Oh and when Isaiah Washington turned up in Jaime's combat training ready to get her to "find the animal", was it just me who was hoping he was gonna say something like: "Like to get down and tussle a little bit? We gonna tussle!" Kenneth rules! :dork:
Jamie's dead boyfriend's dad looks only a couple of years older than his son.
Well considering the medics stated his son was 39yrs old when they were treating him for the gunshot wound, the father must be around 60yrs old. I assume they cast a middle-aged guy in that role because the character has done something to retard the aging process (either that or it's purely cosmetic changes). We'll have to wait and see.
Sarah knew Jaime had a camera eye thing, yet she still tells her to meet at that secret spot and is suprised when the team shows up.
I assume she thought that Jaime knew how to turn off her ocular camera by this point. Later on in the episode (after they've fought them russian thugs in the hair salon) Sarah does say to Jaime "You mean you haven't figured out to disable your GPS yet??"
