ha ha...indeed it does not, ignore the weight category its all to do with the insurance for the courier delivery.
The correct weight is 1.79 kg :thumbs:thanks for spotting the deliberate mistake though

When you say it is used, what does that mean? Are they reconditioned?

BigPockets
11-10-2007, 08:20
No they are used not reconditioned, however they are in excellent condition and still have a years warranty left with Dell.

Hi Rich/Oli, I am just about to order one of these.

I cannot see an option to NOT select Royal Mail delivery? Should there be one?

Also, what's the chances of having an excellent condition model being sent to me?

Finger is hovering on the buy button but would rather it was delivered by some other company.

Cheers,

Chris

they use interlink express to deliver there stock on a next day service (excluding the weekends)

BigPockets
12-10-2007, 08:36
Tesla,
if you order the laptop it will definitely be sent via courier (city link) not interlink darcyburt
The web guys were updating the site yesterday, so they may have messed up the delivery options by mistake. However dont worry we only ever send PC's and Laptops via Courier due to the insurance issues.

Kind Regards
Rich

so are these second hand then? If they are in what environment have they been used and for how long? The HDD says 30gig min, does that mean there is a chance there are higher capacity, is so, what chance?

Any chance of installing some more memory if I order?

Right just to answer a few questions guys,
yes the Dells have a Serial port, individual laptops do sometimes have a slightly bigger drive, 40 Gig for example, but we cant guarantee this hence us quoting a minumum spec. The laptops are ex corporate and thus have been used in a business enviroment, also as they were leased by the corporate they have been kept in good condition.
Lastly unfortunatly we are unable to installing more RAM in them Craig, however this is a simple process that you should be able to tackle at home without too many problems.

Rich

My Dell laptop arrived today and I am very pleased with it.

It's in fantastic condition. It basically looks brand new. There isn't even really any dust in the small fan so I imagine it's had very little use.

If anybody is after either a small laptop or something for uni/college or just simple office/internet tasks then I thoroughly recommend you buy one of these.

The build quality is pretty good too!

Oh, for the technical-minded people. Mine has 2 x 256mb DIMM's. One of them is under the keyboard and the other under the flap on the underside. Mine came with a 30gb HDD.

Just to say. I've owned one of these for two years when I managed to grab two on the Dell Outlet for just over £400. I have to say that it's by far one of best little PCs that I've ever come across and is a perfect little machine for all manner of office stuff and internet browsing. It's become our sofa computer!

Just don't miss out at this price.

Got my Uncle to go for one. I have had a refurb D410 for work for the last 6 months and they are brilliant. I deliberately chose the 410 over the more recent models because of the fact that it isnt widescreen because I use it to do alot of demos and training on a projector which runs at 1024*768.

Great stuff!
