According to IGN columbia tri star is going to release drunken master with a new anamorphic transfer and cantonese and english mono soundtracks. But if you read the bullets and babes forum Jenz says it is not any good.

I think Jenz was talking about a different release when he said it wasnt very good.
The Tristar release looks set to be the best version available, even better than HKL release.

with cantonese ? im definately getting that then, or wait for HKL.

but didnt HKL say something about cantonese source was damaged so they couldnt restore it ? :rolleyes:


i must say, mandarin in comedies just dont have the same affect as cantonese.

The OAR is 2.35:1, so the DVD should be Anamorphic 2.35:1.

i thought i heard ppl talking about HKL version was released cropped so that it will appeal Widescreen owners ...


.... giving the impression it was 4:3 and cropped for WS.

HKL version is cropped. They've indicated that they would revisit the title as a Platinum Edition sometime in the future.

This R1 should be 2.35:1 with Cantonese. The HKL is currently 1.78:1 cropped and Mandarin.
