View Full Version : Why is Sky Sports News not in the Sports package ??

Hi all,

As above really.

I am sure it's been asked loads of times before - it just makes little sense to me.

Maybe they are short of proper News channels but why are SSN and the Eurosport channels in the News mix and not the Sports mix ?

May encourage people to take the news mix who wouldn't otherwise take it.

Personally, I think it is equally appropriate in the News mix - but not convinced abut Eurosport at all!

Sky Sports news is not affiliated to any package is it? It's free-to-air on my freeview TV.

It's subscription on Sky, along with UKTV History, Virgin1, E4, More4 and a few others I can't remember

I had a big argument with Sky over this, i dont watch any news mix apart from SSN and i could therfore drop down to 4 mixes. But they said well some people just like SSN.

But i tried getting across that if you take out SS then you should get SSN included.

In the end i told her its just more ways for sky to get money off me.

I got rid of the news mix a while back and lost Sky Sports News but at the moment I can get it via freeview, not that I watch it that much anyway. Personally I don't have a problem with it being part of the news mix but when it is free to air on freeview it is taking the mick somewhat to make people pay to watch the channel on Sky.

I know how some people feel i pay for Sky sports on vigrin and i cant get ssn either :cry: which is a shame as loved that channel :(

Setanta sports news is Virgin's version. There advertising for News readers if anyone out there can match the fella who does Soccer Saturday.
