Seems very close to the US release. Guess we will be subjected to the mid season break.
There will be a break over christmas/new year but Sky have shown Stargate before the US so hopefully the last half of the season will be on Sky One first.

Though the Christmas finale was pretty great, and our broadcast dates are only a few days behind the US now. Wonderful to see the return of Weir whom I didn't realise how much I had missed. The two McKays were also an excellent highlight here, plus the end credits fade out: "Oh, crap."
The poor point was that the destruction of Atlantis turned out to just be a fake, somewhat unsurprisingly. Also, I was surprised it wasn't too much of a cliffhanger episode.
Also, I was surprised it wasn't too much of a cliffhanger episode.
It wasn't one of the better cliffhangers I have seen Stargate do but I suppose it will do with the ships popping up more and more on the screen. Had to laugh at the way the actual episode ending and the "oh crap" line.
I reckon two Rodney's would have been great :D
I didn't release Dr Wier was coming back in the episode although her sacrifice was pretty obvious given that there was no way she was going to come back full time in the series. Talking of which where was Sam :suspect:

Was ok but not happy with the way they got rid of Weir....again
It's handy that we are seeing Carter so much...oh wait.
I did like the Radik / Rodney scene in which Carson was mentioned and of course the "Oh Crap"

I'm glad Weir isn't in it much - her character has come to grate on me, as she doesn't actually do anything. Though that's better than the ginger general in stargate whose only function was to tell oneill they couldn't do something, then say "well, if you think it's necessary".
Carter I just don't buy at all - probably because she's always writing "subroutines" in 5 minutes. She was much better in the early seasons of SG1.
Enjoyed the finale and am looking forward to a Red Dwarf stylee episode next half season
One of the strengths of SG-1 apart from maybe the last few seasons was that it was story and character driven. The technobabble solution has become common in Atlantis and I don't think this season has really delivered the goods on great episodes yet.
I've obviously missed something about the Replicators. I thought they were created by some kid/robot on a planet in SG-1, now they were created by the Ancients. When did that happen?

+ if memeory serves the person that created the milky way replicators was/turned out to be a lantean as well. so maybe he worked on the orginal replicator project back in the pegasus galaxy before they jumped ship/galaxies.
the scene with the replicator ship blasting the city looked very very similar to the scene carter saw from the future in the Seer. now, I presumed the "visions" seen were applicable to that person that saw them, that being the case, not only wasn't sam in this ep to start with, but it was a different city that sam/aybody had any knowledge of at all and the few that did were killed anyway. **If** it turns out down the line that was the scene in quesiton its pretty lazy scripting. They do take plenty of liberties but that one seems a little too **big**. time for bed I think
The visions were't applicable to the person who saw them, they saw what the guy chose to show them.

"Harmony" was a fantastic fun episode :)
Are you kidding me? It was a completely pointless filler episode with predictable written all over it!
They make episodes like this for one reason only: Cheap as ****!

I enjoy that sort of episode moreso than the big blockbuster action ones. It was hilarious!

They also make them because if they didn't, they'd have to scale down the bigger episodes, or the number of episodes.
TBH, what most people call "filler", I tend to enjoy. There was more than enough there for me to enjoy. Especially the painting at the end:lol:

spookily we watched Silent Hill straight after watching this episode and the same kid was in it
Bit of a filler ep but still quite good, the painting was a work of genius.
Loved the latest episode (16), Probably the best low effects, 3 characters in a room ep they've done. Nice to see Sam getting back to her old self a little bit and although I miss the old Doc, Jewel Staite has been a joy in nearly every ep she's been in.
I know most won't agree, but this was probably my favourite ep so far this season, but that could be a girl thing.

looks like the hot doc is getting the horn though :n0rty: first ronon and now mckay. I wouldn't say no :luv:
I thought that as a filler episode it was a lot better than the clichéd previous babysitting episode.

well last four are not standalone filler eps so hopefully they will balance the last few weeks out :)

I thought that was a great episode. Not as good as Harmony, but a huge improvement over last week's Replicator-on-Earth borefest. Oh, to be trapped somewhere with Carter and Dr. Keller...

She wasn't getting any action in Serenity either, so she must be typecast in this respect......
Oh, to be trapped somewhere with Carter and Dr. Keller...
Oh yeah :n0rty:
I can't work out why now two females have cracked onto Rodney
Not a bad episode although I do hate the way they are suddenly back on Atlantis.
What an absolutely fantastic episode (eps 17)! IMO easily the most "fun" Atlantis episode ever.
Don't want to ruin anything for all you Sky guys, just to say, enjoy!
Indeed!!

It was good to see the SGC again and have part of the action take there, infact at times it felt a bit like a Stargate SG-1 episode.
Just went WTF at the end of ep 18!
When Carson's back from the dead!
Yeah, a seriously WTF moment.
I reckon he's a clone or maybe even a replicant

maybe not though, sure it will all come together next week..
On the return of Carson Beckett: "We wanted to do it in a way that would feel organic with what we were doing for the rest of the season. ... All I'm going to say is we planned how we were going to bring him back at the end of Season Three, and no one caught it. And that's how we would like it to stay. And that story doesn't come to a boil until the end of Season Four, and that's when we're going to bring him back."
(Writer/producer Martin Gero)
Executive producer Joseph Mallozzi has told fans that it will be Carson Beckett in the flesh who returns, and not an ascended being, a time-traveler, or alternate universe version of the character.
"When he returns for the two-parter, it will be Carson Beckett in the flesh," he told SaveCarsonBeckett.com. "... I don't want to give too much away but I can say it won't be an [alternate universe] version of Carson -- or a time-hopping Dr. Beckett either."
so that rules out replicator

Ooh, shock ending! Though I was completely expecting to see Lt. Ford behind the door.

Ditto, didn't see that coming at all. Wonder how they will explain that away.
Please no bloody replicators

well they're not back till next year ;)
Can't find a 4x20 episode thread, but what kind of season finale was that?
Felt like a regular episode to me, and the 'cliffhanger' didn't exactly have me sitting on the edge of my seat either.

It was ok but yes, it felt more like a mid season filler episode. I like filler episodes but I like finales more.
Hope this doesn't go the route of smallville - 2 good episodes a year and the rest being pointless filler.

Yeah a bit disappointing
These "possible future" episodes just allow the writers to do all kinds of dramatic stuff (like kill off half the cast) without actually having to do it, so it's a bit of an easy cop out idea really

I liked it, but it wasn't exactly edge-of-your-seat stuff. Anything that heavily features Sheppard and McKay interacting is usually enjoyable for me.
Season 4's been pretty good but seems to have got a bit mixed up with where it wants to go. The best plotlines have been those concerning Weir and Todd the Wraith. Michael doesn't work for me as an enemy because I find myself wanting to like him.
Teyla is a terrible character and her pregnancy has bored the pants of me for the most part. The drama and tension needs to be upped significantly like it was in the earlier seasons.
I liked it as well although it felt like a mid season episode rather than a final episode to the series and right up to the end I wasn't sure there was even going to be a cliffhanger.
I don't think this series has been one of the better seasons and for me it is because some of the cast are under used while at least one in Ronan seems a pointless addition. Sam is under used since her promotion and Teyla's pregnancy storyline seems pretty pointless as you are restricting what the actor can do, unless she was pregnant in real life.
The interplay between Sheppard and McKay is great as usual and the introduction of the new doctor is more than welcome, talking of which I would like to see her getting more screen time :n0rty:

Allthough I watch Atlantis, I still much prefer watching the boxsets of SG1 I have.
I find myself agreeing with others here and that this season was a bit of a let down of filler type episodes.
I would have much preferred it if they had canned Atlantis and chucked the resources at continuing SG1. But then that wasn't the same without RDA's one liners and expressions.
I will continue to watch Atlantis, but I just have this niggle about it that it doesn't tie in with the story arc of Finding Atlantis in SG1.
Unlike SG1, I find Atlantis limited with the Wraith bad guys. They just don't seem evil enough, maybe be Michael will change things, becoming a Anubus type bad boy.
Talking of the doc, I didn't release she played a wraith in the season two episode "Instinct"
Lets have a picture of the lady herself:

Actualy thinking more about I miss the new races that we had in SG1 such as the Asguard, Nox, Tok'ra, Ree'tou all with decent technology. From memory Atlantis always seems to have backward races making fire rubbing sticks together.
Meh And I still want answers on the Furlings and more on the Crystal Skull.
Now if Atlantis did something with these, maybe a cross over with Daniel Jackson for the Crystall Skull I'd be very happy!

well maybe not exactly you are after but Jackson will be visiting Atlantis in season 5

Have just finished watching the season finale and I was really impressed. I know this type of episode can be a cop out, but, if they are done well, they do work. In fact, in my opinion I would rate this as the best episode of season four. Was reminded of the final episode of SG1, it had the same feel. With any show the main characters never (usually) die, so when it does happen, handled correctly it can be very emotional.
I've enjoyed this series as much as the others, but then I'm a sucker for straight forward Sci-Fi. Brilliant surprise return of Carson, lovely new doctor and McKay is one of the best characters around.
I was surprised they didn't follow up the ship with Weir appearing in the replicators' homeworld debris.
