Anyone see this yesterday? Talk about ham fisted... it put me in mind of Love Thy Neighbour!

Seriously, the whole "Oh noes! He's a muslim" thing was just the most wince inducing TV I've seen in years.

Sounds so bad it might be good.

You're half right. It actually ticked along quite nicely until the exchange student arrives on the scene, and then... clunk!

Absolutely ******* awful. Just awful. The fact that this is getting tremendous reviews in the US at the moment makes me worry even more for the state of that nation's journalism:
"Easily the funniest of the new broadcast network comedies"
"Of all the new fall shows, "Aliens in America" is the one worth protecting and nurturing. This culture clash deserves to be a smash. …"
"consistently clever and lively.."
ugh....*shoots self*
"It looks SO BAD, even I didn't watch it." said TV-Addict, TonyG.
Stick that on the DVD boxset, I dare ya! :D

I think it's meant to be ironic. They're taking the pee out of "middle" america.
Glad to see Amy Pietz (Annie from Caroline in the City) as "hot mum". She's still hot.
This didn't make me laugh though but it was better than rubbish like Big Bang theory which hasn't managed a single joke in 2 episodes and I won't be swayed by them letting Barenaked Ladies do the theme song
The only one that made me laugh, fairly frequently as it happened, was Cavemen. Although it seems to have turned a lot of people off before it started because the characters were formerly the basis of an advert for an insurance company. I guess if they made a sitcom based on those Halifax adverts people would refuse to watch even if it was quite funny.

Haven't you heard?
ITV are making ******** in Brum.
It's a light hearted situation comedy that sees Howard from the Halifax adverts (playing Howie) moving in with a National Front voting family (Dad played by Lance Percival) in Birmingham.
It's certain to be a riot!

Is anyone else still watching this?
I thought the first cuple of episodes were pretty rubbish but got better and the last couple in particular have been as good as any other comedy on at the moment

Yep I am still am and glad it is back one of the few shows my other half watches with me. Seems like shows featuring Muslims (or Asians in general) seem to be the flavor of the month in TV land. If you like this I recommend Little Mosque on the Prairie as the second season is a lot better them the first, although it does make Muslim people out to be quite stupid and ignorant.
It also stars Morris from 24 and even though the guy is not an Arab he certainly appears and acts the part in the show.

I don't mind Aliens in America, it's not the funniest thing on TV and it might just be the TV drought but I'm finding it perfectly watchable
I watched a couple of episode way back in oct or nov time I wasn't convinced by it. By the sounds of it, it gets better later on.

I thought Big Bang Theory was pretty funny?
This has become much better since the first few episodes, now the characters have all settled in, there is much less focus on Rahja being muslim and I think it has become quite funny.

yeah - it gets better as it goes on.
Had a laugh at raja putting down his prayer mat in the middle of the airport departure lounge and the security guard calling in 'a situation' :D
This is now probably one of my favourite shows of the season, it seems to get funnier and funnier so it is a real shame that I believe it has been cancelled :(
The latest episode was particularly amusing with the "potato masher"
