Crocodile Shoes and Spender

Hello all, new member with typical new member question !

OK so I am a Jimmy Nail fan. This was an affair (!) started and perpetuated by AuF Weidershein pet. I made some enquiries a few years back from the production company that produced Crocodile Shoes and they advised that there was no immediate interest in releasing either series one of Crocodile Shoes 1 on DVD or releasing series 2 at all. I tried the same with Spender and had no replies.

I have no longer got copies of the emails and have been unable to find the ID of the production companys again. Does anybody here have any idea if there is ever any liklehoof of wither being released or even shown as repeats.

I get the impression, and it is only an impression, that there must be some legal / political reason why these have not been repeated / released or is it simply that my taste was so bad ??????????

Hmm anyone know of a Scandinavian release of Crocodile Shoes - noticed a copy up on eBay (http://www.thedvdforums.com/affiliatelink.php?localaffiliateid=44) - haven't linked to the item but an easy search for Crocodile Shoes DVD will find it though listed for £33.99 + £4 postage so a little expensive really

Couldn't find anything about it on a quick Google and it was the only copy on eBay too

No sign of Spender yet. Remember watching it at the time, and one of those rare TV programmes I can watch set where I'm from.

Yes, I have been wondering what's happening with these shows! Neither them two have NEVER been repeated ever since! I missed the first entire series of Spender and am into desperation, wanting to see the rest of that show, either on DVD or one of Sky TV channels!

I also like Jimmy Nail and he can be funny at times. :lol: He was great in all series of Auf Weid. Pet and Crocodile Shoes!

Ahhh, Crocodile Shoes. Remember it well. Mainly for Alex Kingston (as Mrs Crocodile) sporting the most impressive chapel hat pegs in the history of TV drama. Quite breathtaking.

Oh, and my missus bought the CD.

Spender was announced for dvd years ago, then just vanished.

Im a fan of Big Jim too, I had to buy 'home made' versions of spender on dvd. Its cool looking at the locations, a lot of the quayside has changed dramtically. But overall it takes itself a bit too seriously, and some of the synth music really dates it. But if its ever realeased officially Ill buy it.I also got the special they made in France, but havent watched it yet. Didnt really watch Croc Shoes, was this any good?


Anyone else interested Tyneside locations, if so a 60's B&W film called Payroll set in Newcastle has recently been released on dvd, Im looking forward to watching this when it arrives. Itll sit on the shelf next to Get Carter.:D
