How much compression do you apply when you export your photos to Flickr? what kind of file size do you generally aim for? I know Flickr has a limit of 5mb for each pic but i would like to keep it to the minimum without losing much quality.
Any tips for compression?

I convert to full quality jpeg, but not larger than 550px across, generally speaking. That's plenty small for Flickr to cope with.

I (pretty much) always stick to a max of 800 pixels across or high and 200kb file size. I've never posted full size JPEGs to flickr and don't intend to start.
I tend to do a combination of those two do, but if I'm emailing Gay Dave I usually send him the full size JPG or a TIFF depending on how much I want to mess him up.

Similar, 800 pixels largest side and 250kb - 280kb in size.

For Flickr I go for 800 pix max largest side. Quality is hard to say as the figure you quote varies per application, but I set it at 90% in Capture NX when exporting to JPEG. I then have a script using ImageMagick to reduce to various sizes for various uses. I'm not sure what that's set at for quality but I don't think it changes it.
