The Overclocking Store (http://www.theoverclockingstore.co.uk/) have a Freecom 32X burner for £133.66 delivered, but it hardly seems worth it when you can get a Lite-On 24X model for half that price from Buy Com (with a £20 voucher).

Does anyone really need to burn a CD in 2.5 minutes instead of 4?

it's not about burning 1 cd that fast. and that's assuming a capacity of what? 74/80 minutes?

i always burn on 99 min cd's so it obviously takes a fair bit longer, and i burn a lot. i capture a lot, download a lot, trade a lot, and borrow a lot and want to keep copies for myself. right now i have a tdk 16x writer. that is fine for now, but it takes about 7 minutes to burn a cd, and add a verify onto that.

i'll wait for the 40x writer i think. 16 - 24 x isnt a big enough just to justify that much money.

All the articles that I've seen recommend burning 99 minute cd's at no more than 8X anyhow.

I take it that's not copyrighted material that you're capturing, downloading, and trading? :D

of course not:rolleyes: ;)

i always burned at 12x. at 16x then i get errors. not always but sometimes. depends on the disk tho. at 12x i never get errors.

seriously though, about capping tv shows, what's the prob? i can tape them so why not capture? same result but better quality video and sound
