Usual rules. But single 15 minute matches instead of 2 x 10.
Group Stages to be completed by 8th October
2nd Round 9th October - 14th October
Quarter Finals 15th - 20th October
Semi-Finals / Final to be completed by 25th October.

Knockout stages are a single 15 minute match with extra time & pens switched on.

This is the last PES 6 tournament, so lets make it a good 'un.:D

Well a fairly exciting opener to the World Cup, albeit in difficult (i.e. laggy) conditions, making it difficult for anyone to put together a few passes in a row. I was leading 1-0 before a reckless tackle just before half-time gave koe a penalty which he duly converted. Managed to bag two more early in the second half, before Koe made it a tense finish by pulling it back to 3-2.

I do have some grave concerns about the Japanese centre half pairing though :nuts:

Tucked away my chances when they came along including a brace for Perz. Steve had a go during the second half and I had to do a lot of defending. First real attack in the second period resulted in a goal and then bagged a late one in injury time from a corner. Cheers for the game mate.

I got a little better in the 2nd half, but it was basically a case of grinding out the result for me. I can't remember your goal now, but I remember thinking it was a very good goal at the time :)

Unlucky mate. The scoreline was harsh, and I think you probably didn't really try and use your best weapon (i.e. Adriano) until well into the 2nd half. Apologies for that hack down at the end, I usually try not too do those unless it's absolutely necessary :) Good luck for the rest of the group games.

Scoreline doesn't quite tell the whole story here. I thought Rawowl deserved at least a couple of goals. He started well and blasted one against the bar before I took the lead and then hit the post from the penalty spot (although the keeper may have gotten to it anyway as he went the right way). He then hit the crossbar with another thunderbolt in the second half and caused a few nervous moments. A touch unlucky mate, you were good enough for a couple of goals. Good luck if you've got any games left to play.

Well, let's file this one in the 'winning ugly' compartment. Not a classic game, I couldn't get to grips with Serbia at all and Phayzed used Germany effectively. The first goal was absurd with Phayzed's goalkeeper falling into the goal with the ball after taking a harmless cross :doh: while the second was clinical finishing. Phayzed got one back with a cracking finish with 3 minutes left but I held out to take the 3 points.

A brace from Adriano was the difference here - steviep922's German side had chance after chance and could easily have won it, but I managed to get a late winner with minutes remaining, luckily. Having had a 2nd minute opener with more than a bit of fortune following a sloppy German pass, I was then under the kosh, eventually conceding a leveller. But cometh the hour, cometh the man, and I end up winning 2-1. Cheers for the game.

Between these two teams, Keane and Duff are always going to be the class players, whoever's playing. They combined twice in 3 minutes in the 1st half, initally to put Morrison through for a good finish, and then for Keane to fire home. Japan grabbed one back just before the break, and then i went and wasted a good handful of chances in the 2nd half, until Duff got a third late on. Scott nicked a second alomst immediately, but that was about the last action.

The return of your dreaded Asian 4-5-1 didn't go unnoticed btw Scott :lol:

Having just won a match, it was back to earth with a very big bump! I took a first half lead through Ronaldo against a rusty Tommy Mat, who took a while to get into his stride. But once he did, 4 goals from Mark Viduka as well as a couple of crossbars hit led to my demise. Even with the talents of Adriano, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo et al, I make Brazil look less than ordinary! The CB's are pretty awful, but I found Ono is a pretty good attacking midfielder, and he's bagged quite a few goals for me already. Admittedly I wasn't playing Parky :)

Yeah, for some reason my team felt really sluggish, and completely mismatched against the Austrailians, especially that fat git Viduka. More so than I found against Brazil, Portugal and Germany strangely. Oh well, I think I should still qualify, although I'll need to get my calculator out :)

Another great game. Typical 2 of the best matches I've had on this game happen when the new one's coming out, and using a crap team. This game was hard work. You can definitely feel the difference when using the lower ranked teams against the top sides. I thought the game was over when CSS went 2-1 up after my keeper decided to turn sweeper and give the ball away outside the area, leaving an open goal for Gilardino to roll the ball into the net. I was already planning my post-match rant in my head :lol: But then I managed to score 2 nice goals with Oliveira in the 81st and 84th minute which was probably a bit harsh on CSS, probably should've been a draw.

Well I'm happy to have got a draw against a Prem player... it took a special bit of Henry skill with a chip over the keeper to get it though.
Turkey went 2-0 up in the first half although Henry came close, hitting the bar with a screamer from 25 yards. France made a couple of changes at half-time (I think I have my starting line up sorted now!) and grabbed a quick brace to level the game.
A couple of frantic moments in each goalmouth followed before Turkey got 3 corners in stoppage time and the ref finally called FT.

A really open game with both of us having to defend for our lives at times. GG Ricky and good luck for the rest of the group games. :thumbs:

Not really sure how it ended up at that score. The Irish were horrible throughout, and i struggled to get much going. Luckily for me they managed to put away some of their chances. The Czechs played a nice tight 5 in midfield in the 1st half, and passed well but with little product. In the 2nd Nabby put two men wide and created a few chances from crosses, but Given was on good form.

I think it was down to your tighter defending - not sure if that's the default setting or the way you set them up. Also your front men are pretty pacey...and Cech had a real mare in goal just to rub salt in...

My 360 was playing up again and I can't get a picture up on screen. Tried other wires in case it was just that but still nothing. Taken it to a games shop and they think it might be the motherboard.

0-0 at half time and then i managed to get a 2 goal lead. Christ, I hate playing against Brazil though. You were able to shrug of all my challenges and scrapped a strange goal and then my back line went AWOL for your equaliser.

Managed to get a winner with 10 minutes left and just about hung on despite the ref playing loads of injury time.

Good game and good luck with the rest :thumbs:

Some great end to end football played with CSS and I'm just glad to have taken my chances in the end. You were unlucky to give away the penalty and red card as I thought you were meant to tackle a comepletely different player. Well played metey!

My game with DaOutsider was just as entertaining but the complete opposite in front of goal. I scored first when there was a scramble in front of goal which ended up with an own goal. You then came right back and a good save by Cech parried to you striker who slotted in. I battled and battled away for an equaliser that wasn't to be as shot after agonising shot went just too high and wide - oh well! Well played!

Fantastic match mate, most fun I've had on it in ages. In addition to the 9 goals there were numerous 1on1s, hitting the woodwork, glaring misses (Ibrahimovic hasn't changed since the previous version I see!) and a sending off as well. Every time I went ahead you clawed it back, even a more defensive formation at half time didn't help matters!

Apologies for the lack of mic, I don't know why it wasn't working, didn't work in the private chat mode either so maybe something's up with it. I could see you were talking, but it wasn't recognising mine :shrug:

Well played matey, frustating as hell for me but well played! One down early on and I managed to get back and even take the lead. I knew that I'd need another for security but hit the post and bar and all sorts and your keeper was on form. You caught me on the break a couple of times but luckily Cech was alert. Sure enough I gave the equaliser away after a cross and my defender caught napping.

t'was a good game...

you raced into a 2-0 lead and i feared a thrashing.

your formation was unsettling but as the second half started france got to grips with it and stormed back to lead 3-2.

then you got the equaliser which squared things up to leave us with the correct result.
