Yes, I got one for £80 about 2 weeks ago.

Here are some test JPEGs, I shot the day I got the lens:

I've not shot with it since, although will be using it for landscape in Arizona next week.

In all honestly, I think its the weakest of the 3rd party wideangles. Stop down to f/11 and its pretty decent, 18mm f/5.6 seems to be its weak point.

Is this a new lens? I don't remember Tamron having a UWA. It looks fantastic, good shots.

Is this a new lens? I don't remember Tamron having a UWA. It looks fantastic, good shots.

It came out around the same time as the Sigma 10-20, and Tokina 12-24.

I think it was somewhat overlooked due to it being more expensive than the others, with less of a zoom range. Its definately not worth a price premium over its rivals, although in its own right its a decent enough lens.

This lens is re-badged by Konica Minolta and the lens generally has a very good reputation amongst KM / Sony owners in that guise. I'm happy enough with it for what I paid. The Tokina 12-24 is still the 3rd party SWA lens to beat IMHO.

EDIT - I've posted Tokina 12-24 shots here:

As I shoot JPEG out-of-the-camera, this should give a reasonable idea of colour rendition and contrast between the two SWAs on the same camera (Fuji S5 Pro). There's no PP on any of my shots in either thread, so its WYSIWYG.

Ken Rockwell compares it favourably to the others and it usually comes in 2nd in his tests at 12mm, just behind the Nikon 12-24, beating the Tokina 12-24 and Sigma 10-20mm.

I don't entirely agree with his conclusions, but he's at least used all 4 lenses.
