I'm looking to get a panoramic shot framed up, I'm going to try and go find somewhere on thursday but just curious in the meantime if anyone here has had it done before and what sort of prices they paid?

Yes I had one created for quite large pano that sits over the fireplace. I think it was about £100 to be framed and mounted.
It is from a place in Chester (Chester Art Framers).

i had a canvas (A2) framed in the local framers shop near me. cost £32 all in (not sctretched, proper wood frame). the cost depended on the amount of wood he used plus the glass backing.
Yeah, it's very common to get a frame made with a mount inside etc., it can be expensive though depending on the type of glass they use, type of wood etc.
Quite a lot of High Street framers subcontract the framing out to other companies, so you are paying for them plus the retailer's cut on top, which is why it can work out expensive.
Really makes the difference to your photos though, so if you've got one you're proud of, go for it!
Does anyone have the link to that online framing place? The one thats been mentioned before where you put all the details in and they do it mail order style.
i've used fastframes.co.uk before - the frame was great but have to say, not sure how they get away with the fast bit. took quite a while to come.
I have had a few done from a local guy. It's better I reckon cause he will look at the image to be framed and come up with ideas for border colour etc...

I use a local company who are also online Frame Express (http://www.frame-express.net/). I am very pleased with them. I go into the shop but the web site is very good and you can design what you want.

I had a photobox pano mounted and framed recently, one of the 20x8 inch ones. Cost me about £45 if I remember correctly. Took it to a small local art gallery/framer and they did a great job, plus the guy spent a lot of time with me helping to choose the right frame and mount.

I just got a quote of £106 from a place near me!!!!! haha I think not...
The search continues...
To be honest, I'd spend some time going round the local car boot sales on a Sunday down your way.
Every week you see people selling new and old photo's/pictures in large and small frames for just a few quid.
With a bit of luck you'll see something around the right size and colour, pop out the picture and get yours printed up to match the frame.
Easily the cheapest way, albeit may take a few weeks to find one you like.
