I am struggling (or am I being daft) to get my sumsung HTQ 200 home cinema surround sound system to work with my samsung plasma. I have an HDMI cable going from the tv to the system. I can play DVDs etc but when on tv the speakers are silent. What do I need/do to get the TV sound to come through the home cinema system?

You probably need to connect analog audio out on the TV to analog audio in on the HC system. Depending on your TV you'll either have red and white phono sockets or a scart socket that can output as well as input.
