A few mags are quoting an Easter release video and hopefuly dvd R2 set. There was no mention of extras but its got to be worth buying even if its 0 extras as it was so good.

Are you doubting that the likes of Errol Flynn and John Wayne did not single handedly defeat the Japanese in WW2? :D

BBC Ceefax quoted a spokesperson a couple of months back saying April 2002 was the likely date, but then some say it's been pushed back to late 2002 in the US to allow for re-runs.

Didn't we have this discussion a few days ago? (see below) At least look back a couple of days before asking a question which is likely to have been asked before.

Band Of Brothers DVD release...any news? (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47781)

Work at the hospital, so only have to negotiate the M20 roundabout.

Wish we could have a sticky that listed rumored/confirmed release dates in this forum so we didn't need to keep asking questions on release dates. Make it a lot easier for all of us, and well as reducing the load on that creaky old server.

That shouldnt matter though as the R1 wont be legally available for release until 2 + years after its original air date.
So were really looking at an R2 only release in the near future.

And then the US version will be much better, and probably cheaper. So remind me why do I never by r1?

That's for synidacted network shows; HBO are a cable channel, and can release Band of Brothers whenever they please. The end of this year is looking most likely.

E-mailed the BBC this morning and got this response within a couple of hours - how's that for service!

"The question does come up often, but I think we've answered it often too! When the show was actually airing I asked about DVD and was told that the plans then were for it to come out on both DVD and VHS at around Easter this year.

But that's all I know - except that it won't be a BBC release. I'm sorry, I can't remember who is bringing it out, I'm away from the newsroom and my notes, but that date is definitely for a UK and thereby R2 release at least.

And I'm with you: fingers crossed for widescreen."
