Ok so Today is the day I can get a upgrade/renewal on my Flext 35 contract (with 25% off), so i log on and wonder what can I get if it works out too expensive for the T-Mobile Vario MDA III (the HTC Kaiser/tytn 2).
So i first look at the cost of the T-Mobile Vario MDA III (without Co-Pilot) if I were to start a new contract on Flext 35 and it works out at £69.99.
Then I check the cost it would to renew my contract and get the exact same and boy was I shocked to find that the price would be £289.99.
Yup I save about £9 a month with my discount and if i were to run that for 18 months i'd save £162, whereas the phone is £220 more (on renewal) than if I started a new contract.
the Nokia n95 is £260 more on renewal than taking a new contract.
Has anyone else experienced this?
If i were to try and get through to their retentions team would I get a better deal? Because i'm happy with the service, just not their commitment to keeping customers and i'm worried that i'll ask for my migration code (or whatever you call it) and they'll just say "No problem sir, here it is, don't let the door hit you on the way out", because i'm not a heavy user (I often have over £100 of my flext allowance left over each month).
Also if i was to ask for my code, could I back out of cancelling my contract or would it be a case of me having to "lay in the bed I made"?
Thanks in advance for any advice or replies.
