View Full Version : Movie widescreen channel on my Phillips 36"
Gonna try not to sound like a complete idiot here - watching the sky movies widescreen channel on my phillips 36" tv, it never seems like I get the full widescreen picture. Even if I change the mode to normal 4:3, the whole picture doesn't see to be there. For instance, watching The Beach last night, the titles were all cut off at the edges, even in 4:3. Is there anything I am suppsed to do to see a widescreen picture - your help would be much appreciated...

Check your digibox and TV are set to widescreen - sounds like the digibox is outputting 4:3.
dvd works fine thru the tv - so it must be set ok....how do I set the digibox - haven't tried, assume its relatively straightforward??

You need to press the 'services' button on your Sky remote, then select 'picture settings'
On here you can cycle through picture settings - make it 16:9 and that should fix things for you :)

When you are in the digibox's menu, set the 'Scart Switching' to on.this will enable auto switching between anamorphic/full screen mode. You should keep the Philips set to 'auto' mode.I assume there is a stretch function similiar to the panasonic,to make 4:3 images fill the screen.
thanks for your help guys - much appreciated!!
