Xbox 360 newbie - help with Xbox Live please

Am new to Xbox 360, and online gaming. I've managed to join Live and find myself playing some very random people. How do I get to be more selective? How do I play you forum people?

Any advice (for a total online games novice!) would be much appreciated.

Have a look at the sticky thread at the top of the gaming forum and it has the gamertags of a lot of people on here, I'm sure people will just add you from here also:thumbs:
