Lovejoy & Pie in the Sky dvd boxsets

Hi All,

I'm considering purchasing these but was wondering if anyone could tell me what the picture and audio quality is like on them? Are there any particular versions I should avoid?

Don't know about PITS, but I had read that Lovejoy quality wasn't great. Lovejoy is acceptable. There has obviously been no clean up or restoration, just looks like a direct copy of the broadcast tapes with all their inherent faults.

So is watchable and looks better than it would on VHS, also better than the ITV3 screenings which tend to be overcompressed and blocky, as standard ITV practice.

The image quality on Lovejoy is like Malcy said pretty average at best.
If you do buy the box set make sure that you dont buy one of the pirated versions on Fleabay as the qulaity is very flaky on some of the episodes.

Thanks for your replies. I think I'll skip them for now as I tend to be picky about image quality.
