Hi

i have been given a friends ZEHNDER reicever and dish to get working, it is brand new, he bought it for his caravan.

i have tried to get it to work but am failing.

i have now plugged it into my sky feed and it works, it finds all the freeto air channels etc.

but if i plug in the dish (that came with it) it finds a signal strengh of around 70% but the signal quality never moves off ZERO %.
and wont find any channels (obviously)

i have used a sat finder to locate the Sat (ASTRA 2A) and the dish is pointing the same as my house one.

any one got ANY advice please ..........

It could well be a duff LNB but its more likely that your dish isn't pointing exactly in the right direction - even a couple of degrees off and you won't get a decent signal. I'd try readjusting the position after checking all the connections.

I don't have a motorised dish and so "manually" switch between Astra 19 degs and Hotbird 13 degs every few months when I fancy a change and I often get 0% signal quality but 50 - 60% strength when moving it - it means that I haven't aligned it properly.
