Diy sky box replacement

I'm looking to replace my old sky box with a new one (probably get one off eBay (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-582776-5826355))
thing is the old box is not connected to a phone line, so if I fit the new one myself will my sky card work in it without having to reconnect the phone line :?:

Sky cards and boxes have to be matched in their database to work. At the very least you would need to tell them you had a new box, its serial number and your card details so they could pair them.
