View Full Version : Alternative for Canon (OC-E3) Off Camera Flash Cord
Seriously, how can canon justify charging £45 for 2 foot of fricking cord??
It's almost as bad as the £50+ they charge for a bit of plastic when it comes to lens hoods. At least with lens hoods though, you can get generic versions for a fiver, but I've not managed to find any cheap alternatives for the Off-Camera flash cord - do such things exist??
Jessops do a version of there own or if you're not bothered about ETTL you can buy radio triggers.
Thanks but the jessop one seems to still be £35. I can't believe there's not someone in Hong Kong knocking these out for pennies!
I'm keen to know of a cheap alternative, since I think it uses the same contacts as the hot shoe on the Olympus dSLRs.

Is the difference between the OC-E3 to the OC-SC2 mainly more metal parts?
I don't remember paying £45 for the OC-SC2...

Found this: "
Off camera shoe cord 3
Like the previous Off camera shoe cord 2 but with water and dust resistant housing. Secure and easier to use locking lever"
I think my O-CSC2 was around £29 last Xmas [bought to me as a prezzie:D]
Thanks for the help guys, in the end I got the Jessops one for about £25 after using some vouchers.
