View Full Version : RoboCop Dir. Cut Boxset Only?
Can someone shed some light on this?
Is the RoboCop Directors Cut available on its own, out of the boxed set, or is it boxed set only?
Heard conflicting reports on this one.
Cheers,
Dan.

I read a review for this (DVD Review) and it stated it had seamless branching. I was led to believe there was a pause at every bit of re-instated violence. Need confirmation.
Also could somebody please confirm if information in the 1.85:1 crop is missing from the sides as well as the top?
Thanks
The Druffmeister
BTW DVD Review categorically stated that this is not available on its own..but need confirmation on this also.

Hmm. Very slow lately for answers to queries on the forums. Like my topic (http://thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47274) nobody seems to know the answers any more. Back in my day it was instantaneous, like that! <clicks fingers>, and some bright spark would pitch in with the correct info.

it features 'integrated branching' which explains the longer pauses. Check out the dvdtimes review (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=Review&id=430&story=2486) for specs. Everywhere I've read has said its only available as a boxset.

Thanks kcxdev.
I know the specs but there is still some confusion about whether the movie is cropped at the sides as well as the top.
there are some screenshots comparing the CC and MGM release and comments about the ratio (in the video bit). Might help a bit :)
MGM are releasing an R1 version of the director's cut special edition later in the year.
