View Full Version : Whats a good TV for around £400
Im after a new telly for around that price, dont get too techy on me as i dont understand squat about tv's :) But i'll need to plug my XBox into it too.
Have you decided what size you're looking for? How far away will you be sitting?
Robert
Sitting maybe 10 ish feet away +/1 a little bit
Currently got a 28 or 29" JVC crt so looking around the same size, 30 or 32 i guess?

As a starting point, you could have a look at both the Orion TV-32082 (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?mid=1597&id=30372&p=http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0884276173.1185559688@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdjaddliekfggicflgceggdhhmdgmk.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=653393&category_oid=-28723) or Mirai DTL-632V200 (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=2464&prepg=); both are 32" televisions (which is a true diagonal for the screen unlike crt where you lose a bit of the tube to the surround). Bear in mind that neither have a freeview digital tuner built in (only analogue), so will require a separate box for freeview use if this is required - obviously, if you use Sky or cable then that's not so important. One advantage of the Mirai is that they back it up with a 3 year warranty. Both are pretty good budget models.
There was also this AOC 32" model discussed in the bargain forum (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=459348) not too long ago.
Robert
thanks for that :) The mirai looks like a good one to go for.

There is also another Mirai. It has the same specs but looks different. I believe it is a newer model to the 632.
