It probably won't rate many column inches in the press, but Stockport County legend Danny Bergara has sadly passed away aged 65 after suffering two strokes.

He took us from being a joke outfit in Division Four to promotions and four Wembley appearances and when he left, David Jones took us to Division One with many of Bergara's team.

Fittingly we are playing Cardiff City on Saturday in a friendly and Jones and Jim Gannon are to lay wreaths on the pitch before the start of the game.

Instead of the usual minute silence or applause there will be a two minute rendition of 'Danny Bergars's blue and white army'.

Condolences to his family and thanks for the great memories - RIP

I was curious so I Googled his name & came up with this. The last sentence was
prophetic, as this was written a year ago. "I miss being a manager and I would have liked someone to give me another job. Not as much now though - I wouldn't want to be like Bobby Robson, going on into my seventies." Here (http://observer.guardian.co.uk/osm/story/0,,1720890,00.html) is the article.
