We (Bradford) have not played in this league for quite some time but finally after 5 years of freefall all the way from the premiership (including 2 spells in administration) the rot has stopped. All debts now paid, new investment in the club and a old legend back to manage the club (Stuart McCall). We have lost a lot of players though including our goal scorers (Windass would have knocked them in for fun in this league :( )
Do not know many of the teams in this league but certainly hopeful for us for the coming year :) So who are the form teams and tip from promotion then ?
ALso how much for season tickets do you lot pay? We have £138 - supposed to be cheapest in the league. is this true ?
Roll on August 11th..

Don't think there are many on here. A few of the regulars from the past support teams who have been promoted over the last couple seasons, Yeovil, Swansea, Southend, Bristol Rovers etc.
Bish is a Wrexham fan, so you aren't alone

Looking forward to Peterborough Doing well this year , Ferguson jnr should do okay, hopefully get to more games this year than last, saw them play against manutd at the weekend and they looked good
Wycombe fan here. In the last two seasons we have started brilliantly only to fall away at the end. This has always been mainly due to a squad that is too small to cope with injuries, fatigue and suspensions. However, this summer, Paul Lambert has stocked up with quite a few players so hopefully we will be serious contenders for promotion.

Stand by your beds, a Mariner is in town.
I can't wait for our opener against Notts (snotts) County. Let's see what the clubs living leg-end can do with a pre-season behind him. During the last quarter of last season we produced automatic promotion form. Which saved us from the drop.

Yes Wycombe Fan here, so thats 2 for Wycombe then ;) As Hood said last two years been a little short, but have signed some quality players with plenty of experience. Should definitely be looking at Play-offs if not Automatic promotion. Can't wait to goto Valley Parade and stick it to the over-confident Bradford Boys. All the message boards i go on is Bradford are to good, too big, will win it easy. Well to be honest your here for a reason and can;t wait for them t be over-turned!

:nono: yes we are here due to a certain previous chairman overspending which sent us plummeting from 2 years in the premiership (yes :p) to here in the basement via two periods of administration and the real likelihood we wouldn't survive at all. but we did. and we did pay off all debts in full unlike our neighbours Leeds I might add.
Well there is plenty of room at VP it being the biggest capacity stadium int he division so bring yer mates along too :)
And of course will remind you of that "turning over" when it doesn't quite work out the way you had hoped ;)
Yep, Accrington fan here. Have been going since 1977, so it's all pretty much unchartered where we are at the moment. ;)
Got off to a cracking start today with an away win at Wycombe. Hope to have a better season than last time out, or at least a bit less stressful ;)
My season ticket this year was about £230 I think. The £138 at Bradford is the cheapest in L2 by quite a bit I think.

Apparently £20 for an away fan to get in though? So they'll make their money back in other ways.

I thought I was being light hearted. Dear me, twice I tried it and twice it's back-fired. Might as well give up
Well we got beat 0-1 by Leicester tonight, but we gave a very good account of ourselves, against a full strength Championship side.
Second half there was only one team in it. We twice hit the post and the Leicester 'keeper pulled off the save of his career from a Boco shot.
I feel very encouraged by tonight's game. If we play like that every week we'll be ok this season. :)

I guess so, though I'm away on the Tuesday, get back into Stranraer at 2.30pm, so hoping for a tie either at home or somewhere I can get to in time! Will be gutted if we draw a big team and it's moved to Monday for the telly

Last minute penalty for us to win at Chester tonight, this league malarkey is fun, just hope it lasts!
Any Chester defeat is fun :D
I didn't realise we had a League Two thread this season, shows how often I pop into the sports forum, also in previous years the L2 thread has been a rather quiet place.
Well so far this season we (Wrexham) have had poor start in the league, winning just once and losing the other three. Due to several international call ups our game against Rochdale tomorrow has been postponed.
Early signs seem to indicate a rather unspectacular season ahead with mid table obscurity being the most likely outcome. Saying that I'd rather that than the last day survival tension I had to endure last season.
I'd love Accrington to experience mid table obscurity this season.
We were too good for Grimsby today and polished them off 4-1!!! (Nearly as many as the 5 we put past Wrexham last year ;) ). Grimsby looked ok in the first half, but were very poor after the break.
We have looked like a struggling team, but today it all seemed to click.
Did you beat us then? I can't remember, I must have erased it from my memory :D
Here is a reminder Bish

Good win for Bradford today although i must admit Peterborough outplayed us in the first half, but we weathered the storm and came out better in the second half. After city scored Posh seemed to lose their way a bit and we could have probably scored a second. I thought Josh Low played well for Peterborough but Gnakpa and Newton struggled to contain Omar Daley, hence the bookings they both got for continually hauling him back, Gnakpa was lucky to stay on the field. Roll on Hereford next week

Did you go to Bradford away for the first game, we have improved a lot since then, think if that had but 3 or 4 games in we would have won it, but fair play to you, you derserved the point
No, didn't go. Generally only go to home games, but maybe get 3 or 4 away days in. Yeah, i was fairly surprised at the poor start you got off to. We are much improved from last season under Paul Ince, where we were very nervous and always looking to not lose games, playing long ball football. Understandable really considering how badly we started. I think yesterdays 2nd half was the worst we have played so far.

What a great game at The Moss Rose today. We beat Bish's Wrexham with 2 goals in the 4 minutes of injury time, after coming from 2-0 down to win 3-2. :)
Thank god I didn't go, I nearly changed my mind at the last minute and made the trip.

Bradford v Chester last night, first half was probably the best i've seen Bradford play this season, think the half time team talk must have been something along the lines of "errr, were winning at half time, not really sure what to do now, just go out and try defend for 45 mins and play like we usually do". We let Chester have way too much of the ball in the second half, but hey, another goal and 3 points, whos complaining
Well at least this season we can't moan about being inconsistent as we've been awful all season. Now instead of sacking a manager who is obviously out of his depth our board have decided to announce they are looking for a "senior manager to work along side the present staff". In the meantime he stays in charge for our next two games.
Going to games has become a chore rather than entertainment, I'm off soon for tonights encounter with Wycombe but I can't say I have much enthusiasm.

We will welcome yourselves and esp Sammy Mc to the Moss Rose next Saturday, but i hope we're not welcoming enough to hand you any points though. I'm hoping we can break or poor run, and also your good one. Our results really don't tell the whole story. Today, for instance we cruised into a 2-0 lead over Rochdale and then shot ourselves in the foot by going to sleep on a corner in (far too much) injury time. :(

I think he is capable of making the step up to the Championship, he's a class act. Rumours around here are Wolves and Blackpool.
It would need to be a good offer though, he signed a three year contract at the start of the season. I'm sure the club wouldnt stand in his way if a good offer came in though, but he's just moved to the area, and according to his brother on the Morecambe messageboard is really enjoying his football here - so I'd be surprised if he made his move in the transfer window, I think it would make more sense to keep playing at Morecambe and assessing his options in the summer.

Story of the season really, yesterday. We create chances and then can't finish them off. :( Fair play to your boys though, they kept plugging away to the end. It would be a remarkable rise if you got up via the play-offs, reminiscent of what we did a few years ago, but then came straight back down.
We need some new signings this week after losing our captain McIntyre and a couple of others in the transfer window. Its left us a little short, to say the least.

Forgot to add before - kudos for your admission policy - been commented on several times on our forum.
Compared to places like Stockport who charge £18 for a restricted view of the pitch, it was refreshing to get in yesterday for a tenner, and kids under 12 went free! If only more clubs followed your example.

Yeah, its fair pricing i think for this level of football. It was the same last year. Also, 12-16 year olds can get a season ticket for £50. Strange thing is, its not really increased the attendances which are consitantly around the 2500 mark.
Accrington have a similar scheme, but they won't let visiting supporters under 12's in free!! Not on really, and last time we were there, there were a few disgruntled dads having a moan.
The table's beginning to firm up a bit now, and the playoff spots are being very closely contested!

Makes the decision to build a 25,000 capacity stadium for an average of under 4000 a little silly

The way this league is run is a joke - we at Morecambe had a transfer embargo for spending above a certain % of their income on wages, despite being debt free. Darlington, with several million pounds of debt, were not given an embargo, because their wage bill was under that % of their income, even though they were still losing money.
Let the Premier League do as it pleases, but there are going to be several clubs go to the wall unless we introduce a model that insists clubs are solvent and not loss making before they are given licenses to participlate a la France and Germany.
as a vale fan our position over the last few years is heartbreaking. we've been into administration before and have what I believe to be one of the best chairmen an any league who genuinely loves the club. we've spent nothing over the last few years as we try and live within our means and as a result are surely one of the poorest teams in the league. a succesion of poor managers and the inability to build a team instead of a succesive collection of loanees and journeymen will surely see us go non league within a matter of a couple of years. I honestly don't know how it's possible to turn it round though without a sugar daddy not interested in making a return.
when i think back to holding liverpool at anfield, arsenal at our place and knocking everton out of the fa cup when they were the holders it just makes me sick.
Well done Barnet for beating Portsmouth away tonight (and given the age of the thread, for staying up last season)
