Just wondered how many forum members have had issues with Sky+ boxes packing in?

Currently on my third now since Last October, and its started playing up (rebooting on random, resetting to begining of recorded program when you picture search more then x12, and so on!).

1st box we had all the menus were garbled, so you couldn`t tell what it was doing (actual boot / operating menus, not the sky guide, etc), second box drive crashed within 10 minutes of it being installed :p

"Ive run over black cats that were luckier than me"

seems too accurate doesn't it :p

Glad I didn't have the money to go for Sky+ when I was tempted - to say that I would be annoyed is putting it mildly.

Had mine for 3 months now and I've only had to reboot it twice in that time. I haven't had to reboot it at all since the last software upgrade. No other problems and I've not even heard a peep from the hard-disk...

There was an upgrade that enabled 30x FF/Rewind...

..touch wood - no problems with my Sky+ box - and it's probably the best £300 I spent last year in terms of the amount of use I get from it...

First one crapped out after 1 month, but it's replacement has worked fine for 2 months+, with no reboots whatsoever. The new software seems much more stable, which for £10/month it would bl**dy well need to be.

Excellent piece of kit, which suits me better than Tivo, though I looked at both long and hard.
