Okay, technically this is PC software but I think the majority of people this is aimed at post here:

My bandmate told me about this. I think they were developing it commercially and something happened that made them just put it out at a cheap licence. Or maybe it was just designed that way.
Either way, it's under $40 for the home enthusiast, and just under $200 if you're doing it commercially.
Joe uses Pro-Tools all the time to produce the band's music and he tends to record us live on a very old tiny Sony Laptop (so old it only has USB 1.1) but for that he used to use Nuendo. However, Reaper's got such a small footprint he was able to record, mix down and master our last session from his laptop. He's totally been converted which is a good sign.
Anyway, I'm guessing the vast majority of us home nuts are using :nono: copies of legit software or making do with half-arsed free versions; with the pound as strong as it is, this should be worth a punt.
