Is this the full, final line up then?

www.tonthefringe.co.uk

Notice there are none of the usual Princess St. Gardens gigs happening.

Less "event" bands seem to be playing as in the past few years (when you had The Charlatans, Morrissey, Maximo Park, Belle and Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand, Pulp et al).... Dinosaur Jnr?

More of a focus on RAWK too as opposed to the usual indie shenanigans.

Razorlight AND The Editors in one night sounds painful but not as bad as The Foo Fighters AND NIN.

Frankly, it's a god awful lineup.

The only show I want to see are the Foos with NIN, and the Editors, who are unfortunately supporting the most offensively **** band on the planet.

It is a weird line up. I hate the Foos and NIN but I see where you are coming from... it's strangely unfocused this year isn't it? This is the first year I've found it hard to be excited. The line up goes from retro 90s bands to stadium drivel to really, weird choices (Turbo fkn Negro?).

I think I'll come up for The Sounds show.

I have tickets to The Sounds. Best act there.

I'll probably go to the Soma night and maybe try and catch Seasick Steve and maybe The Eagles of Death Metal

Got tickets to see the Foo Fighters as the wife really wants to see them whereas I'm going just as much to see NiN having recently got in to them. Having said that, the FF do seem to get great live reviews, so I'm happy to see them too. I also noticed that The Silversun Pickups are on the same night which is good as I've been enjoying their album.

Not sure about the rest of the lineup, very few bands jump out as being must-see whereas last year they seemed to have something for everyone and there was no trouble picking lots of shows you'd want to see.

Well they've just announced The Shins who are unutterably awful. I've got tickets to The Happy Mondays/ Scouting for Girls and The Sounds but would have liked to have taken in more. In the seven years they've been doing this, this is their weakest line up by far.

Have you heard the new Happy Mondays album yet? Very tempted to try it myself....

From what I've heard of it Jelly Bean is excellent (I really liked Playground Superstar too) but the rest is pretty dodgy.

Ryder's on top form on the album with some very funny and bizzare lyrics. Sadly the band (whoever they may be) aren't up to the job and play some insipid jazz bar funk behind him.

Never thought I'd see the day when 'The Shins' and 'unutterably awful' would be in the same sentence.

Even if their music was good (and its not) selling your records to McDonalds adverts is pretty grim...
