I was in Blockbuster this afternoon. It's not like I have an account there, I was just in there, checking offers, and was surprised to see some half decent stuff in there pre-owned section. They had DVD's labelled up as £3.99 each or 4 for £10, which would place them at £2.50 each!

I myself picked up:
Mischief Night
Superman Returns (1 disc)
An Inconvenient Truth
Broken Flowers

I saw a lot of copies of The Last Kiss and Miami Vice, with the odd copy of Saw and Lady in the Water.

Of course, I’m sure each store would differ with what they might have. If you're okay with a few scratches or don't mind rental versions then it might be worth having a look.

I've picked up a few beauties in that offer, i don't really care for the ex-rentals (or at least the ones that advertised themselves as "Rental Only") but i've picked up

Casshern
House of flying daggers (2 disc)
A bronx tale
Catch me if you can (2 disc)

Was this branded as "Rental Copy"?

I've been into 4 different Blockbusters bargain hunting and each one had 5-10 copies of mischeif night and each one was a "Rental copy"

I'd pretty much lost track of how much I'd grabbed in there over the last few weeks. Just had a look through the various piles of boxes near the telly, and found the following:

Sin City
Assault on Precinct 13
Long Good Friday
Mean Streets SE
Dead Man's Shoes
Brick
The Untouchables
Silent Hill
The Yes Men
Enron - The Smartest...
Downfall
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang

all from the 4 for £10 offer.

Picked up The Cooler, Life Aquatic, The Aviator and Ong Bak for £2 each, too.

All either in Brighton or Burgess Hill branches.

See if your local uses one of those Disc Doctor machines. The chichester one used to. Makes the pre-owned more inviting.

The Mischief Night I picked up had the words, "Rental version" on the back of the case.

It doesn't have the commentary and interviews that is on the retail version.

Do they still keep the discs themselves behind the counter?

I've seen V for Vendetta and United 93 rentals in this offer too.
